Fresh breath of air! Happy customer here.

I went there for an oil change but I end up buying another car while I was there :-) Good people, they treated me well, and I believe I got an awesome deal (not the mention my whole family is in love with our new family vehicle).

Owed me money and sent a check for $0.00!

My son purchased a 2009 Mazda three from King Richards auto in Rhode Island. When the car was delivered to him the tire pressure light was on. They told him to bring the car back the next day and they'd fix it for him. Upon arrival the next day they told us they couldn't help us because we didn't have an appointment. We had driven 28 miles to get there and I complained about the gas involved in coming back and they said when we came back they'd give us some gas. We made the appointment and brought the car back but no one put any gas in it. Shortly before the 30 day warranty was up the tire light went on again. My son called to make an appointment during regular business hours but no one answered. He left a message but no one returned the call. Shortly after that the check engine light went on and we brought it our mechanic to check out. He told us that the tire pressure light had a bad sensor and that the check engine light was caused by a faulty gas cap. My son, who was leaving on an extended trip the next day called King Richards and left a message and again no one called back. He called again later that day and said if he didn't get a return call within a couple of hours our mechanic would have to fix it before his trip the next day and they'd have to pay for it. No one ever called back so he had the repair done. He brought the bill to the dealership and the owner wasn't there. One of the sales people took the bill, copied it and said they would put it on Richards desk. We never heard from them. So I called everyday until I got hold of the owner who told me he'd never received a bill so I faxed it to him. He called me back and said they wouldn't pay for the entire repair but that they would reimburse some of it. I asked when I'd receive a check and he said they'd cut one that very day. A few days later a check arrived in the mail, made out to my husband, who has been in Africa for months and the amount of the check was $0.00! When I called back I said I wanted the money for the entire bill and they've not sent anything. I've called and left three messages and haven't received a call back or a new check. The total amount of the repair was $272.53. The car was still under warrantee so both items should be paid. When I first spoke to Richard I said I'd just take the money for the tire repair but now I believe both issues should have been taken care of by them, especially after receiving a check made out to someone that had nothing to do with the purchase and for $0.00. If they had returned any of my sons called before he had to leave town with the vehicle we could have worked something out.

King Richard's

I purchased my car about two years ago. While I will not go outright and say this dealership is fraudulent, but I will say that I will never buy from this dealership again. First off, they lowballed my trade-in.I did eventually get them to the proper market value though. My car did not have any obvious issues, but after a day I noticed several issues that needed repairs requiring several trips back to the dealership to get things fixed. At that time it dawned on me that they are what I call a 'fix it after the sale' dealer. I recognized this because my trade-in was back on the lot the next day (It had major electrical and water issues). The price of the car was fair if I did not have the issues that the car had. It was my fault for not fully vetting the car, but realizing that this seems to be SOP for how they sell cars. I will say that the salesman was nice, but I should have stood up and left after his first statement during the negotiation was 'The price of this car cannot be lowered, and we will give you 1k for your trade-in'.

Misleading on cars.com

King Richard's misrepresents the price of vehicles on cars.com, obviously so those of us using cars.com for searches will see their vehicles. They understate the price in the heading by $1,000, their vehicle makes it into your search criterion for price, then when you click on it find that, oh yeah, that adverised price is after a $1,000 down payment. A sleazy, dishonest practice.

Nothing but Issues

I purchased a used 2005 Mazda 3s hatchback around March for my 22nd birthday. After a week of driving back and forth from work check engine light came on. Misfiring. I fixed that with new spark plugs. Then within the same week my car ran out of oil, got my oil changed and its still disappearing on me. Go figure my warranty is over now. Now the check engine light is back on, making weird noises from up front, and im still losing oil. Without any signs of a leak. Idk if it's my brakes now or what. Axle or bearing. I just want my car looked at, and fixed properly. My cousin also purchase a car from here and he's spent close to $1500 bucks on repairs . im getting the vibe that kids my age are getting stuck with lemons. I was soo happy at first on how things were going, I treat my car like a baby. Don't beat on it and do what I need to do. I'm not a happy person right now. I just want my car taken care of and fixed the way it should of been before leaving the dealership

Deceptive pricing

We tried to buy a car from them last week after seeing it advertised on the internet. When we showed up they told us the advertised internet price presumed a $1,000 trade in (as specified in the on-line microprint) so the cash price was actually $1,000 higher than advertised. We decided not to buy from them.

Easy to Deal With

Purchased a car last week from King Richard's. I found them to be easy to deal with and up front about their cars. All my questions were answered. The financing process was quick and easy. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good used car.

New location same awesome treatment!!! THANKS !!!

This is my second time buying a car from King Richards. I had a great experience with my first time around when they were at their old location back in 2009 and I always serviced my car at their service department which I also had a good experience with. I am even more happy with my second purchase because they gave me a great deal for my trade I also appreciate how smooth the whole transaction was! I would highly recommend this dealer!
