CONSUMER BEWARE Bought a used Car Sales person was 19

CONSUMER BEWARE Bought a used Car Sales person was 19 yrs old and still green. He’s not the blame When picking up the car The radio wasn’t working seems it need a code plugged into it that the technician should have done prior to putting on the lot and sale Also back brake light was not working ( bulb burnt out ) another thing the technician was supposed to check and replace before putting in lot for sale, this should have raised the red flags but not being a car technician and an older senior citizen I was Thinking that these were minor issues and could probably be fixed by a phone call and. $2 light bulb. I took the car home I didn’t drive it until the following afternoon While driving I noticed it road very rough and bumpy, steering wheel shook a bit. Not knowing much about cars and engines this is why I wanted to go to a reputable dealership with decent ratings and reviews so I chose Paramus Honda Rt 4 After all you would think that since they have the service dept right there. They would have to check out these cars and have safe cars to resell Right ? That’s what I thought anyway What a Big $$$$ Mistake ! After having my son in law check out the car because he’s certified as a technician he took the car for a drive and didn’t take him long to realize that The shocks front and rear were bad, another thing the Honda dealership technician should have replaced, power steering has a leak, (can’t tell me a certified technician couldn’t see that ) and the car was actually repainted ( spray from paint was found on door handles and others small areas and at some point this car must have been in an accident which they said the car fax said no accidents. That’s fine not reported ,but there were areas on the car that were compounded. My son in law knew this because there’s a little thing he does, it seems if any car was in a accident, which by tapping the car there’s something about the sound that is a dead give away. Hence the repainting He also noticed that the struts and control arm were not safe So now what do you do ? Well they are supposed to be a very reputable dealership right? Lets tell them what we found out and ask them to fix this so the car can be driven and be safe to drive. The sales manager very rude and said well you signed an as is document so we can’t do anything. Really ! We haven’t had the car 3 days. After spending another 3 hours going back and forth with sale manager and then the used car sales manager ( who was a bit more understanding ) said. Leave the car and we will have my technician recheck the car and see what we could do. My son in law said these repairs would cost someone close to 4,000 out of pocket so we said give back $2,000 and we will pay the balance of repairs End results : They replaced back shocks and a light bulb. Sales manager on the phone Acknowledged the car has other issues but they weren’t going to repair or even tell us what was wrong still. Real Nice Guy. Huhh , No money back No apology, Just told nothing more they will do, told to pick up the car and have a nice day. There’s an old saying about car salesman which rings in my ears. How about you ? Stay away from this one Find another there’s thousands of car dealerships.

My appointment time is always when my car is taken in, comfortable waiting area, great communication, and very timely service. Natasha and her team are fantastic and I highly recommend.
