A dealership that won’t stand behind their product
From the moment I walked in the door, it has been a great experience with Lily from the internet sales. She went out of her way to earn my business. Nice job. Four years ago, I posted a 5 star review for cardinale way Mazda. But I have to change my review 4 years later for a very bad ownership experience with this dealership and Mazda as a car company. For the past two years, I’d experienced some engine vibrations during a warm start. This occurs after I drive the vehicle for a little while then stop and start the car again, say going to a grocery store or dropping off kids and such day to day activities. The engine would vibrate during the start sequence but settles into normal operation. The vibration could be mild to severe that is bad enough to stall the engine. I had taken this concern to Cardinale way Mazda for at least 4 times in the past 2 years or so. They had hold my vehicle for one whole month at time. But the answer from the dealship would be the same, “ we can not reproduce the problem”. To help them locate the problem, I video recorded each “warm start “ sequence on my phone, and notated the day, time , how long I parked the car before started the engine again. With all the notes and video clips provided to the dealership, the answer from them have been the same , “ can’t duplicate my concern”. During my last visit, I had the service manager sat in the car with me, and “duplicated the problem “ with Brad, the service manager. He initially appeared to be very understanding of this concern and ruled this as a “ hot socket “ condition. He promised me to let me know on the solutions. But after he took the vehicle in, he came back with the same answer that is his technician can’t duplicate my concern. But wait, I had duplicated this issue in front of him. Brad claimed that “ he is not an expert on this “ so his technician would have to duplicate it again. Well, if a service manager is not an expert of the product, who would be ??! Brad and his tech blamed this “hot socket “ issue on Costco gas I was using. Not using the 91 octane gas instead of factory recommended 87 octane… Come on guys. I’ve reached out to Mazda corp for help. But every time I only got to speak with a customer service representative working from home. Amd even after escalating my case to higher level, no one had ever called me back. I honestly love driving my 2019 Mazda CX- 5 which was planned to pass on to my teenage daughter who will be learning how to drive soon. But with this annoyance and the lack of responsibility from the the dealership, I’ve decided to trade this car in for something else.
