Do not buy a car from this dealership owner group!

Do not buy a car from this dealership owner group! I wish I could give 0 stars because I would. I went in to this dealership on 3/9/2024 to look at a vehicle for sale. After getting an offer, I decided to wait and try and do a private sale on my car instead of the trade-in offer that they gave me. Rick, the salesman contacted me regularly through the rest of March asking how the process was going (he wanted the sale). On 4/5/2024 at 5:25 pm, he sent me a text with a new price on the vehicle. When I called the next day, I discovered that Rick was off work that day and the guy I spoke with said that the price was actually $6k higher than what Rick sent me. When I mentioned that I received this text, the guy said that it didn’t matter what Rick sent me. This is clear evidence of a bait-and-switch sales tactic. In fact, this “deal” was worse than what I was offered back in March. This is actually my second bad experience from this dealership owner group. 10+ years ago, I had a bad experience with their service department. I thought I would give them another chance. Boy, was I wrong!

can deal with. Rick was an excellent salesman. Drove the truck home for me. Even put some gas in the tank out of his own pocket to get it home. Called me a couple weeks later to see how the truck was working for me. Highly recommend and would ho back again.

Overall, the experience was pleasant and the staff were very friendly. However, the process/wait time seemed excessively long. Additionally, it was frustrating when the salesman spoke to the man I brought with me rather than me (the customer).

Pleasant folks to deal with. I had my eye on a used vehicle and shopped around online. Was priced competitively. I must say, I've never been in and out of a dealership in an hour including financing but that happened. Would do business again.

I could not be happier with my buying experience at Mathews Ford Newark. My sales person, Justin Gibson, was very professional in every way and Bob in finance was the same. I could not recommend a finer more professional dealership to work with and will definitely buy from them again.

In my nearly 50 years of car buying experience, Justin Gibson (not related) is the nicest and most professional sales person I have ever dealt with. The entire staff at Mathews Ford Newark were very kind and professional and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. I will be a customer for life.
