Great Experience

I went into this dealership a few weeks ago, and dealt with one unsavory fellow, who upon a second visit had been removed. The sales manager fixed me up with Jeff, and I could not have been happier. I went with a few other people, and he was patient, and answered all of our questions. Needless to say, I am now behind the wheel of a brand new Ram 1500.

Attention to detail

Recently I had inquired about a new dodge ram on Truecar.com and within 20 seconds I had help with my selection April from their internet station was on top of her game. She help setup an appointment to come in and look at some cars, they are true to their word about prices. Unfortunately I did not buy a car at this time but I will be doing business with this dealership in the future.

Great experience

When we got into the dealer we had an idea of what we wanted but our salesman, Jay helped us narrow down our options. We didn't feel rushed and they took their time to answer our questions. Once we picked our car we sat with a finance manger, Dominic, he was great at explaining all the options and answering all our questions. They worked a good deal for us but we couldn't get else where.

Smithhaven Dodge Durango Purchase

Sales and finance employees were helpful and made working with the insurance company easy. However, upon payment and pickup, I had to wait as the paperwork prepared had new plates attached, instead of the requested plate transfer. In addition, delivery took a lot longer than expected. I had to leave my wife Bernadette at the dealership to take possession of the car. Oil change vouchers ($20 each) were added to the vin # for our inconvenience, and I appreciate that. Certainly a nice gesture from the owner which went a long way to making us feel about the delays. Later, when I looked the car over, I did notice a VERY slight crease in the rear driver doorpanel, a scrape, or line on the inside of the same door (side of armrest), and a nick in the paint by the rear hatch handle. Everything else appears to be in order.

Finally, a good experience buying a car!

We did not buy the first day and Mike(Saleman) did not act aggravated or discourteous .Friendly, courteous and non-pressuring salesman, Mike C. Really tried hard to make us happy with our purchase. We were greeted immediately when we entered the showroom by Dave, General Manager and expedited the process. Very Happy with the experience. Would buy from Smithhaven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram again.

Service staff efficient

I enjoy bring notified on line service reminders. Service staff are good I do think with the changed atmosphere looks nice but both woman handling the phones wIted five min before acknowledging my presence .. This is an ongoing issue that seriously needs to be addressed ..Client walks in they should be greeted and the reception should contact service and tell them someone is here... Also third oil change and my free oil changes are still not in the system as promises twice before . Dan Gogin sold the car with free oil changes for length of loan 75 months when is it reasonable to have this communicated to the service department ... Follow thru from sales to service lacking makes recommending future sales hard ... I like the service managers they are forthcoming and explain things well and detailed.

Never got a price

Looking for a mid-size car with a standard shift is a pretty difficult task. It led me to look at the 2104 Challenger, a beautiful car with more voom than I required, but it still became the leading contender. Test drove one in Port Jefferson, but wrong color and options. Nice straightforward salesperson though. So I went to Smith Haven, which had a couple in stock. I was helped by David, who was new to the dealership. Drove a white 2013 leftover, which was certainly leftover because it had a ridiculous nonfunctional snorkel on the hood. David said he would look into swapping out the hood, but never gave me a price, despite us waiting around for one for an extra 25 minutes. He promised to call me the next day (Tuesday) and didn?t. Meanwhile, I found a dealer in Levitown with four 2104 standard shift Challengers in stock, and they gave me a price over the phone. So it was worth the trip in?which is where I was when David called back on Wednesday, leaving a message that revealed he still did not have an answer on the hood or a price on the car. Monday was a waste of an hour and a half. Made the deal on Wednesday and drove off with a gorgeous Jazz Blue Challenger a few days later. David kept calling (at least a dozen times over 15-20 days) and leaving noncommittal messages. My wife finally picked up and told him we bought a car, please stop calling. In the conversation he told her that he thought the Challenger was too much car for us. I guess he thought we bought a Volvo. Today, two months later, Smith Haven called again, but didn?t leave a message. Had decided not to do a review, but that call changed my mind. I don?t blame David for the non-information. Playing games with ?hide the price? is a management decision that I just don?t understand. Too many in the industry do this. It just causes me to go elsewhere.

Chris, I'm discouraged to hear of your negative experience at our dealership. Our main priority is to provide excellent customer service, and that includes taking the time to explain all parts of your contract. You left our dealership with disapproval overshadowing your experience and I am disappointed for the unanswered questions that still remain and any miscommunication between our staff members. We understand the car-purchasing process may be stressful and time-consuming but our staff is dedicated to making that process as fast and easy as possible. Apparently we have fallen short of those goals on your most recent car-buying experience. Avoid at all costs

The only person that I felt comfortable speaking with was the salesperson. The finance manager attempted to tack on additional charges that I noticed during contract signing. He also falsified information on the loan documentation for the credit union (stated I make more money than I could prove). I had a hard time scheduling vehicle for service, despite advising them that I was a new customer that purchased the vehicle there. I was finally able to drop my car off for service and waited over 1.5 hours to be picked up by the rental company. I have called multiple times to the service department to check on the status of my vehicle and was greeted by the answering machine every time. How is that customer service? They don't seem to care about their customers at all. Do yourself a favor and go east a few miles where they are friendlier and more accomodating. Avoid this dealer as much as possible. There are always different faces in this place. None of their employees seem to stay. What does that tell you about the work environment?

Amazing Experience!!!

I needed a vehicle as soon as possible and had gone to other dealerships before deciding to purchase from Jeff Bell at Smith Haven. Jeff's service is like no other and he does not put any pressure on you. He is honest and truely cares about his customers.
