First Acura in 25 years
This vehicle replaces a German SUV that was beginning to show signs of costly repairs. Having driven the European cars for 2.5 decades, I decided to look for something Japanese to enjoy a bit of reliability and ease-of-ownership compared to the others. I look forward to many trouble-free miles of ownership with this vehicle.

Great car for the looks and value.
What can I say. I traded my Lexus for the RDX. It was a great option and value. Both are great car companies but Acura leads in technology and engineering.

Very Nice Car
I just purchased this car. Am still learning about it but it seems to have so many safety features that are making it worth the purchase. Am anxious to learn what all it can do!

Brakes Squeak On Brand New RDX
Purchased my new RDX less than a month ago and have had consistent issues with the brakes squeaking. Acura Service has attempted a few fixes without much success. Evidently this is a known problem that also occurs in older versions of the RDX and Acura has still not come up with a fix for the problem.

Fun to drive
I test drove lots of SUVs before I came back to the RDX. It was the only one to meet my expectations of looks, comfort, safety and fun to drive. Its too early to say it is reliable.

Plenty of power, decent fuel economy.
I looked at many midsize s u v"s before choosing this one, The reason I bought the Acura a spec was appearance, power, reliability, and resale value. Many of the competitors (Audi, Mercedes, Volvo) depreciate greatly when they get close to warranty expiring because the cost of maintenance. Some things that this vehicle is lacking is folding mirrors, more of a usable navigation system (it's ok with a phone connected) With the a spec package you don't get a spare tire just a flat fix kit that will only work for small holes in the tire so for a larger puncture you wait for a tow truck. another issue for me is you have to pay for oil changes in comparison Volvo gives you three years free services as others also do this for free. Another issue is if you have a warranty issue Acura might not give you a loaner car where as 90 % of the competitors will, the good news is this is a very reliable vehicle. In summery do your home work if your trading in your vehicle know the trade in value (use Kelly blue book) not the dealers on line valuator) if they bring up reconditioning fees the trade in should be considered in excellent condition .

Not for Snow
If you live in an area that gets snow, do not buy this vehicle. All the sensors are behind the big Acura logo on the front of the RDX. When it gets snow on it, all the driving systems shut down - Cruise control, lane keep assist and most importantly VSA - Traction control. After talking to Honda/Acura, this is how the RDX is designed! Simply, it handles horribly in the snow and on slushy roads. If you don't believe me, ask before you buy.

Big disappointment
I have a number of disappointments. Let's start with the automatic wiper blades that run off sensors. They start wiping when I don't need it and don't wipe when snow and rain accumulates. I am using bluetooth to play music from my phone and it constantly cuts out. My biggest complaint is the heating system. I live in Canada and we are experiencing some very cold weather and the vehicle runs cold for a long time and subsequently does not generate a lot of heat. The dealership says everything is working to specification. However I disagree. I'm in discussions with Honda Canada now to see if they can determine what the problem is.
