2008 Acura TL consumer reviews

I love this car. It is so much better then I ever expected. I wanted all the luxury that this car offers (heated seats, Nav, Bluetooth, XM and more) but couldn't afford it in a BMW or Audi. The car actually gets an average of 32 MPG highway for us... but we do a lot of highway miles. Love it love it love it!

Theres so many positive things about this car,but couple things i like the most are 8'' wide screen with best navigation ever,works so fast,has so many options,and it's so simple unlike type RL or any benz cars.. Comfort is much better then my previous car SL500 ,also i have much more features then my previous car Handsfreelink,and voice control system which means you start the car,put into drive,and with 2 buttons on your steering wheel you control: climate,radio stations,mp3,dvd,finding anything you want on your navigation system.. Rear view camera helps a lot to see behind you ,while you're parking the car,and what's interesting as soon as you shift into reverse mode it goes automaticlly on... I still can't believe you get all this below 40 grand US dollars out the door... First i though i'm gonna miss my Benz,but after owning this car and exploring all the features in it,i'm never goin back.. Plus less cost,less insurance,better fuel economy,better reliability,don't even need to talk about it... I would totally recommend this car to anyone..

To me, this is not near-luxury. It is luxury. The car, itself, seems to be in a funny triangular-rectangle shape. but that kind of makes it look more sportyish. another great thing is that mine has navigation inside it. along with black leather seats and trim, the interior is ok. it is not that comfortable, and could use a little bit of finishing touches. overall, i would prefer this car.

My hubby wanted this car since the gas milage is pretty good and it has all the bells and whisles, without the massive price tag. I will never go back to Lexus after owning a TL.

We have driven our 08 TL type- S for only a few weeks and cant get enough of it. This car is a nice blend of power,comfort and style. We did months of research and test drove a number of other similar cars, yet kept coming back to the TL. The Type-S is really fun to drive and has some serious giddy-up! The negative talk about "tourqe steer" is blown way out of proportion if you ask me........its not nearly as bad as some would lead you to beleive. In fact, the steering is solid, yet responsive. This car is just what we had hoped it would be. You should test drive one for yourself and see.

I spent months researching and driving the competition. Have owned 2 other Acuras of old vintage and am sold on their durability. This car is so fun to drive and extremely comfortable. The power and speed is quite deceptive as the car is so quiet. The gadgetry is too high tech and offers too much that it's operation may be too complicated. Exterior styling is modest(to my liking). I hope the reliability is up to expectations!

Just purchased Carbon-Bronze TL-S Type this past weekend. Car has the balance of what I was looking for; very fast response, solid handling, good reliability and loaded with up-to-date technical features. Traded in a GMC Envoy so it's going from the ridiculous to the sublime. At 4,500 pounds, the Envoy was like driving a cinder block in high winds. The TL-S feels like it's glued to the road. Has a very "Germanic" road feel. Minor Criticisms: I use the MP3 connection buried in the armrest storage box and am having difficulty running the wires out. There is no way to run the wires (that I can see) that doesn't cursh them against the sides of the container when the armrest is down. Should have keyless start (remote start) since it has everything else. Love: Voice command! Love: The fact that it automatically starts downshifting as you slow down so I don't have to keep dropping it into a lower gear range (like the Envoy). I haven't broken it in yet and have not pushed it any where near its limits, but I am sure that it will do just fine.

I got my new carbon bronze 08 TL in early November, and I have to say that I love the car so much that sometimes when I go to sleep at night I can't wait to wake up in the morning so I can drive it again. This is the most car for the money !!! Case closed !!! The BMW 3 series may handle better, the Lexus IS may have a more comfortable ride, and the Infiniti G35 may have more power, but the TL has a bit of each of those cars in it, that you can't really go against it. And besides, Acura and Honda are still number one when it comes to resale. And the thing I love about it is that everything comes standard on this car. 1,400 miles so far and no complaints, although sometimes I wish that it had a slightly bigger glove compartment as well as storage area inside the arm rest. But these are, of course, very minor flaws that I can live with. The car is great inside and out. I hear that it will be redesigned in 09 and that it will have AWD. However, keep in mind that the fuel economy is going to suffer with AWD. Now I am getting 23-24 miles a gallon while the car is still breaking-in. I would highly recommend this car to anyone !!!

I got more than 2000 miles on my new TL and I cannot believe that I actually drive this car to work everyday. Everybody in my company noticed immediately. Other day I saw myself in a reflection and now I know why. This car just looks fantastic. Take it from a dealership parking lot to downtown and watch reflections of yourself. I got bronze exterior with parchement interior. When you open the door, it whispers (not screams) luxury! I love all the features: seat memory settings, hands-free bluetooth phone link, navigation, dual clima, sound system. Driving is very smooth and comfortable and if you want very sporty as well. Perfect balance. You can drive your mother in law in a limo and your friends in a sports car all in the same vehicle. Driving in the heavy rain, passing 18-wheelers, up the hill in curvy road, all of it is pure driving passion. MPG is OK, 28 on highways and 23.5 in my daily commute. Easily the best car I ever had.

My fiancee and I just bought the car a couple months ago, and since then I have fell in love with the acura. We bought a TL type S...it's amazing. I especially love the navigation. It handles amazingly and the interior design is just wonderful!
