When you must have a back seat...
Have I mentioned how much I love my Cayman...? Unfortunately, my responsibilities to my 9-year old twins made it essential for me to have a back seat, so, I went looking for a great sports car that would accomodate my family. I found one. The 335 has a terrific motor -- the classic BMW 6 -- and, with the sport package and a stick, it's set up to handle perfectly. As a result, it's both quick in town and a great highway cruiser. The hardtop convertible works really well... quiet, tight, easy up & down. Finally, the 6-speed helps me get pretty fair mileage (21.5 mpg). I still love my Porsche, but the 335 is a great car.

Avoid owning without an extended waranty
Acceleration is very quick and the engine is very responsive. However, steering at slower speeds is heavy and slow. The AWD system is the best that I have ever used. Your only restrictions will be your tires. I have Continental Pro Contact SSR (run flat). I take road trips to Wisconsin and West Virginia in the winter and have never been stuck, even when plowing through snow over the front bumper. In wet conditions the tires will not break free unless you turn off the traction control and stability systems. Gas millage is good. 27 to 29 highway with an average consumption of 25 MPG. The cabin room is average along with the trunk. I can fit everything that my family needs on a road trip. 2 kids with child seats, two suitcases and a running stroller. The engine overheats for no reason. The computer destroys IPODs for no reason. "Scheduled maintenance" is inadequate so be ready for some out of pocket expenses. The AWD will wear down tires fast. at least 1000$ per set of 4 every 20-25,000 miles. Break pads wear out much faster than the scheduled maintenance logs suggest. The car is a maintenance hog so I hope that you live close to a BMW dealer. My recommendation is to lease a new BMW and not have to worry about anything because it will be covered under the warranty for the period leased. Another option is to loose the performance and get a much more reliable 328. I regret buying this car because it is always in the shop and the resale value of the car is not even close to what you are going to pay for it. Keep in mind that the KBB price guide is not what dealers and consumers use. It is what they are selling at auction for that everyone is looking at. Don't pay too much and good luck!

335i Beauty
What can I say. My wife is our breadwinner, and needed a new car, starting a new job in CA via Las Vegas. She likes Beemers/Bimmers (not sure which is right) and with a youngster, we needed 4 doors. I knew our budget and I knew immediatly which one we should get. A 335i with a Vishnu Stage II chip! Can you say 400 HP? Well close. You would need 93 octane and a modified exhaust to get that, but close enough is still very good. Let me tell you, holy cow! I have not been able to totally turn off the Traction control. I also have a hard time launching without wheelspin and the TC kicking in slows it down some, even though I have it turned off. Love the slick 6 speed autostick. hate that it's opposite my other cars. Would prefer to push forward to upshift than back like the BMW transmissions. Still, a stunning car that stickered out at almost $53,000 in 2007! Needless to say it has everything and the kitchen sink. Love the key-less entry a lot, every car should have this. So once you own a 3 series, you'll understand why more autowriters own one than any other car. So buy the 335i, find a chip, Ebay and elsewhere. It's the cheapest HP you will find anywhere!, and you too can be in car heaven. Plenty 2007-10's out there.

Watch out M3
This car will beat stock M3's from 03-06, because of it's twin turbo's it is very easy to modify. It is the fastest BMW I have ever owned.

335 Rocks
Got my 335 Sedan a few months ago...This is the most fun driving sedan I have ever had (I have owned Mercedes, Saab, VW, Nissan, sports sedans before). The performance alone is worth the price of admission (I love the juvenille feeling of dropping the hammer at the lights with revving muscle cars right beside me...and then watching them gaze in wonder as my twin turbos kick in and they start to see my taillamps). The cornering is ferocious for a sedan, and the ride can be rough at times to acheive this performance, but this is within expectations of this car genre. The only issue (and how minor can you get?) I have with the car has been the design of the Driver's cup holder. It is placed on the passenger side and swings oddly over to within reach of the driver. Not the finest design ever. All in all, I will be back for more with BMW

You have to drive one and experience it to believe
I test drove many cars before test driving the 335 Xi. I fell in love with this car as soon as I test drove it. The acceleration is unbelievable. The power the engine puts out for this small sedan is just awesome. The convenience of a 4 door - all wheel drive sedan that is faster than many many sports coupes is what makes the 335 Xi a practical all season car as well as kick-@$$ car at the same time. If you have the budget, test drive one before you buy anything else.

great car!
i have driven one off and on now for a year and honestly, ive driven her hard and shes held up. the problems i had early on were are due to bad driving (fuel pump busted), after getting used to it on the other hand ive taken that thing over 25,000 miles and topped out at 130 mph and daily used it all in less than a year and spent about 2000 in mechanic trips total. since ive learned how to drive her, ZERO trips and loving it. just bought a used one for myself. worth every penny.

Nice from outside......
I have this car for 3 years, I leased it new. In average I have one visit per month to the dealer, different "error message ". In brief the major two problems are the "run flat tire" and the electric system. The run flat tires extremely expensive and not available. (They do not exist in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota) If you are in that region, you need to wait for three to four days till you get them. If you do not have a problem with time and money, this makes a great car for you. It is very stylish and fun to drive. No t made for long travel as long as there is no spare tire, and there is in average 2-3 BME dealers in each state. I will never buy BMW as a first car, May be as second or weekend car only.

Switching back to Lexus
When i first bought this car I was all about it. I've had it for a year now and its been in the shop twice. The first time was for a bad steering wheel lock chip. That cost $1200 to fix. The second time I lost 90% of my engine power while driving to work. I am still waiting to hear back from BMW Corporate as the local dealership charges $130 for a diagnostic test and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I can't deny the handling of the 335i but other than raw performance the car is not reliable. I am the second owner and the car has been in the shop multiple times almost reaching double digits between the previous owner and myself. This car is perfect if you don't care about burning money. My 1998 Lexus GS400 had 200,000 miles when I traded it for this car and it ran perfect. Long story short, I will never buy any BMW again unless I win the lottery.
