  • This is the Most dependable car i have owned.

ONE OF A KIND 2005 BMW 525i, Drives smoothly, nice and tight, no rattles. Engine, suspension, transmission, steering, are superb. Transmission shifts very smooth. Cold A/C. This car has the best engine in its class; straight 6-cylinder; best engine BMW has made. Excellent car for daily driving. Fuel consumption is @ 23-26 mpg.

  • Most reliable car I’ve owned

Having had this car for 13 years, I can attest to the reliability and longevity of this car. The car still runs perfectly with only needing routine repairs. It’s safe to say my next car will be another BMW.

  • Very reliable car

This car served its purpose and some. It has been very reliable for 8 years. No major repairs at all. Still looks great especially for a 2005.

  • Beautiful Car/ Not Reliable

I have this car for about four years now, and I think I was at the dealer eight times a year for a electrical problem. It is a great car but the time spent at the dealer is SO not worth it, waiting for hours or leaving the car with them, VERY inconvenient, and the cost of repairs is outrages. You go to the dealer to repair one thing, they come up with a few more. I LOVE the way the car looks and the drive is awesome, can not be matched by any. The only thing I do not find attractive is the dash, it is OK but does not suit/match the beauty of the car.

  • Nice but unreliable

I have a 525 wagon, and while it is a blast to drive, it has proven very unreliable. I have owned it for a year and the following have needed repair: - New turbo (I have the 525 diesel). BMW reported this to be a common problem. - Airbag symbol started to light up twice, two different problems - License plate lights went out, first one then the next. Replaced the bulbs, but it was due to broken wires by the hinge. Cost > $1000 to fix! - Rear wiper stopped working and then I could not open the trunk! Also due to broken wires by the hinge. I should have replaced the harness when the license place lights went out, but shame on you BMW that you have such stupid design issus. Trunks must be designed to be opened and closed without breaking the wires!! - While cruising on the freeway, the main display went RED with a big warning "General electrical failure. It is not possible to continue your journey. Please stop and call BMW". The engine did not stop, and after 10 seconds the warning went away and has never been seen again. Spooky! - There is a clunking sound in the drive train in the short moment between accelerating and decelerating (and reverse). BMW checked it out and said it was normal, but I don't think it is. Great car to drive, but BMW should be ashamed of the reliability.

  • Fun car to drive

This car is a blast to drive. While it's not the 300 hp model, it has the feel of much more power than you would guess from the engine size and output. With the 6-spd, it gets well over 30 mpg highway and around 20 mpg city.

  • Fun car to drive

2005 BMW 525i is the best handling car I've ever drove for a passenger sedan. It gets great gas mileage highway driving at between 75/80 mph. Decent power for a 184 hp engine.
