Drivetrain Malfunction < 4,000 mi , stranded!

X3 xDrive30i 2.0L, 14 Twin Scroll Turbo . New, under 4,000 mi. While parked ,"Drivetrain Malfunction" displayed. Turn off, restarted, car entered total Lockdown Mode: No gears, completely inoperable. Stranded in a commercial parking lot waiting for BMW tow . Took 4 hrs. Service "repair" states software reprogramming, but will not state cause, says they did "all that BMW would allow" ! Rep. hinted that a Bulletin might be coming soon. An Existing Bulletin on Crankshaft Sensor failure lists at least 7 other BMW models with the identical engines affected. The X-3 is not listed among those. 2018 X3 30i Engine is: B46B20M0, Chassis is G01. Dealers' hands appear to be tied while , BMW America appears to have abandoned any commitment to customer safety and security in favor of cost saving to the company, before being compelled to acknowledge engineering faults. Strongly advise research on Class Action Litigation and Federal NHTSA actions BEFORE purchase. It's gorgeous, the premium package upgrades are awesome and those things mean NOTHING if it cannot be relied upon to actually make it down the road, and back! Chassis G01 Engine B46B20M0

One hundred percent satisfied.

I love being up. I can just slide in and out of the seats without a problem. Find the rear hatch hands free opening wonderful. The ride is nice, smooth and responsive. All my needs have been met with this vehicle!

First BMW

Tested out the Audi Q5 and the MB GLC I have Have had mainly sedans My wife has the SUV Coming from an Audi A6 this is different but in the first 400 miles I think it?s a good car Also HK stereo is the best stock one I?ve had Handling and steering seemed better than the competitors Time will tell on reliability but the engine/transmission seem excellent for only 2 liters

7 Months with X3 have been great!

I really like my new 2018 X3! It is comfortable and fun to drive. Has great features. Hope there will be iDrive upgrades to make better use of touchscreen. Clearly designed before the touchscreen.

MSPORT Power

I owned a2016 X3 and was very happy about the overall performance. However, the interior was a tad too small and the technology was somewhat limited. BMW changed course and created a proportioned replica of an X5. This was perfect for me because I prefer the midsize maneuverability of an X3 and the luxurious amenities of an X5. Well played.

Most powerful, fun to drive SUV ever. X3 M40

SUV space, but handling and performance of a sports car. In addition, the features included are mind blowing and with a few options, there's not too much more you could want in an SUV. The acceleration is exhilarating, making this SUV a blast to drive.

GREAT CAR!

Have the X3 M40i version. Lots of power, extras and comfort. Handling awesome. Safety options great. Pricey, but worth it. No other brand of car I?ve owned handles and feels like a BMW. BMW?s drive is one of a kind. The new X3 is great in combining the feel and braking of a 3 series in an SUV. Truly another great example of an ultimate driving machine. Really glad I bought it!

Ultimate Driving machine

After driving the Pilot, Ridgeline, Highlander, Santa Fe, and several others, the BMW X3 was by far the car.It is solidly built, quiet, and smooth. The ride is lsmoothand it handles almost like a sedan. It's just the right size, has very comfortable seats and is loaded with technology! If you're looking for a new SUV in this segment, put this one on your short list to test drive.
