very nice car
We like the car a lot, very good performence, comfortable, quiet. Very nice car to drive also the climate control is much improved over my 2001 La Sabre is still a very good car, with 120000 mi.on it. I dont like the cup holder, you need 2 hands to get a cup out.I also dont like where the trunk light is.You 2suit cases in and you dont have any light.

Just plain fun to drive
Only problem is the remote starter has quit working at a distance. I am waiting for a new unit. took the car on a 3 week trip and it prformed great. the V-8 could use a little more low end power, but it was great on the road when you needed to pass......................................................................................................................................................

love the style BUT
have 2006 V6 Have had lots of problems with lights flashing on the dash. If car is in cruise it drops out of cruise & ABS light comes on. Have had it back to the dealer 4 X's One computer change. Some wireing changed. They had it for a week & it didn't happen to them but I took it home & drove it 70 mi & on a smooth dry hi-way out of cruise it went. Took it to the closest dealer & it did show a code--which the other dealer never could come up with--something with the automatic breaking system. Took it back to the dealer iwhere it was bought. It's been 3 days--I'm still waiting for my car!!!

Excelant value for the money!!
I bought my Lucerne CX and drove it the next day for a 10 day road trip from NY to Fla. The car was superb in its overal performace and gas milage. The car drove well in cold January weather into hot south Fla. weather [a/c on] then back to NY and hitting snow and ice in Va. and the D.C. area. I clocked just under 3100 miles overall. It's been a pleasure so far with no problems. This is my first Buick. I upgraded from a 2001 Honda Accord. The Buick is much quieter and smoother riding with confident road manners than my Accord and I'm now looking forward to my next trip back to Fla. in the Buick. I will update this review if I should find any problems .. so far so good! btw.. for those who have not found the trunk handle .. it's not on the outside. When trunk is fully open look up [right of center] and you will see along the bottom of the trunks edge an indented rectangular molding for your hands four fingers to slip into. You close the trunk by pulling downward with one quick motion. It will take a couple of times of practice to get the feel of it .. not closing the trunk to hard. One last comment, my Lucerne is black with titanium grey interior. I got so many nice comments from people while out one night for dinner in Boca Raton Fla. These were Lexus and BMW people who couldn't get over how beautiful my car looked parked next to their shiny black, waxed, buffed cars. You should have seen the surprize look on their faces when they saw it was a Buick Lucerne they were admiring!!

Unreliable instrumentation readings
Some instrumentation gauges do not work properly. My research has discovered that the computers that feed data to the these gauges are incorrectly programmed. Buick does not currently have a fix for this problem. I.E., fuel gauge does not give correct reading when car is started on an unlevel surface. Buick said it can take up to 10 miles of driving for the gauge to correct itself. According to the AAA car doctor this is a computer program bug. MY tachometer, outside temp gauge also don't work properly. I'm not sure what other gauges are not working.

Annoying rattles
I had been impressed by the Lucerne's exterior styling and lines, as well as it's options package. The car drives and handles wonderfully, both in town and out on the open roads. I have CXS and the magnetic supension is definitely a plus, especially since I live in the country. The Northstar engine provides adequate power for my needs. A definite plus for quickly getting around the farm vehicles on the back roads. I get a consistent 25 mpg in my driving; something with which I am very satisfied. I like the look and feel of the interior layout. The big minus is the sound. This car is a very quiet car, and the passenger seat vibrates and squeaks on only moderately rough roads. This drives me absolutely batty! There were other BSR (buzz, squeak, and rattle) issues with the car, also. These were quickly remedied except the passenger seat. For this reason I cannot recommend this car. I haven't been able to find out if this is a common problem with this model, so it may not be common to the Lucerne line up. But I would recommend a test drive with the passenger seat empty before buying. The rest of the interior is nicely laid out and the optional navigation system is very handy on trips.

The Buick Lucerne CLX V6
This Buick seems to have it all. The 3800 V6 engine delivers all the power anyone needs. Although it does not give you that "push you back into the seat" sensation when you pull away from the curb, it does pull away with more than satisfactory power. Even on high hills, there's power to spare and I don't see any necessity for a V8 in this vehicle. The interior is amazingly luxurious - the leather is supple and smooth and very comfortable. The instrumentation is logical, the knobs are soft to the touch, the steering wheel controls are very handy, the "on-star" and telephone buttons are also very handy and the sound from them is crystal clear. The option I chose was the XM radio with the nine Harman Kardon speakers for truly great surround sound. I especially like the music from the 40's and enjoy listening to the golden oldies. But my grandkids like the latest music and revel in them as they ride, while I try to keep the volume down. The exterior is distinctive and pleasant - perhaps not the jazziest, but very classy and beautifully understated. I chose the sagemist metallic color and it looks great. This car is a winner and it is no wonder that sales are very strong. The 2007 model (which I bought) is pretty well the same as the 2006 model, which is an indication that there was really nothing for GM to fix. If you buy this car, be sure to specify a chrome grill. It sets off the front much more than chrome wheels would. I chose the standard pearl/nickel finish for the wheels and that seems to be just right.

Buick Lucerne CX V6
I rented the Lucerne in early July. I enjoyed the luxury of this car. Mileage was good. I found the ride smooth. Maybe too smooth. The windshield was low which sometimes was a factor of the view. Besides that, the Buick Lucerne in a good choice for people who want luxury while driving.
