Hope Chevy will bring it back

Most comfortable and flexible truck I've ever been in. This is the Black Diamond version of the Avalanche. Very dependable vehicle. Depending on driving speed and road topography, truck automatically switches between full power and gas saving. Design and truck bed cover make it very stylish looking. Easy to remove bed covering panels for open bed truck and to let down rear panel and back seats to have a full size extended truck bed. Four doors make it easy for passengers to access back seats. Vehicle does sit up high and I have to use a step stool for my more senior passengers.

Love this truck, its a beauty.

Most comfortable riding vehicle I have ever owned, very dependable. I hate to give it up. But its not meant for Montana icy cold winters

Very nice truck, that rides like a car

I've been searching for a third car, basically a truck. The Avalanche provides many of the features I'm looking for. Its comfortable and classy and it can haul a lot of what I normally do. Longer items might be a problem since the bed is relatively small compared to an F150 or other trucks available. But the interior, the ride and the overall package is very nice if you need a dual purpose vehicle.

Bought this vehicle by searching cars.com

This 2013 Avalanche replaced my 2008 Avalanche This is the last year of production so I hope GM starts making them again. I like the versatility of the design.

Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned

I was hit by a larger vehicle and lived to tell the tale! My 2002 Chevrolet 1500 LT Avalanche Z71 4x4 took the brunt of the impact. It was a total loss. It was a "no-brainer" when it came time to purchase a replacement vehicle.

Great versitility - just needs better motor

Love the styling. Excellent leg room in back. Best feature is the mid-gate... allows me to carry 4X8 sheets of drywall or plywood with tail gate closed... Disappointed in the 5.3L Active Fuel Management engine reliability. Read a lot on either cylinder 1 or 7 failing, which requires a re-build (~$6-7K). My mechanic told me of service bulletins on the issue. My nephew has a GMC Sierra - had same cylinder fail. Not hard to read about it just search for 5.3L engine problems... It's pretty heavy too, and fuel efficiency is just OK. Outside of the chronic and not uncommon engine failure, I love the vehicle. The saddle bag compartments are very handy and cool. The bed height is a little larger. Would recommend with warning on the engine issue.

couldn't purchase

In review of the vehicle, by the most parts it is the only vehicle I would buy. The problem in buying is simple: 1) Assembled in Mexico, 2) Active Fuel Management System, likely installed to meet lawyer EPA mileage requirements, I want nothing designed by a lawyer, 3) Stopped making in 2013, vehicles are 5 years old and out of warranty, the prices are too high for the money asked with this installed AFM system. In the beginning I was on my way to buy a $57,000 new pickup ext cab. I then discovered that a ?B? pillar had been installed for the ft. door to close on and hinge the rear door. This makes it almost impossible to access the rear seating area. The `Clamshell? design was the best. Why the change I don?t know but everyone did it. Maybe a lawyer was involved again. The end result, I kept my money, and the dealer kept his trucks.
