2007 Chevrolet Aveo consumer reviews

2007 Chevrolet Aveo passenger airbag light stays on when my wife who weights about 130 lbs. I have had the auto into the dealership 7 times sence I purchesed it in Feb 2007 to repair this problem. They claim that they have contacted GM about this problem, but not come up with a fix for it. I called GM customer relations about this problem. They are no help eather. They claim they replaced every thing connected with the air bag system, but it still don't work. My wife will not ride in the car the way it is, so I have a car that I can't take my wife with me when I go any place. I would not purchase another GM product because of this, their customer service is not good.

This was the first new car I have ever bought. I have always driven Chevy and never had any problems that were serious, the company was always helpful and continue to be. The car has great handling and the seats are very comfortable, I drive a lot and couldnt deal with anything less. Overall its a wonderful car to drive and own.

I have had the little yellow 4 door hatchback one for exactly 1 year, 30k miles and NO repairs. I didn't rotate the tire so I had to replace the front ones just this week. Great town car the best. Nothing like my 89 golf GL was on the highway, but a new golf cost a lot more. If you want to drive over 70mph stay away--the little 1.6 is singing an agrevating tune @ 75 otherwise it is just fine. Our family off three takes many small trips, 20-80 miles with a huge bag of hockey stuff behind the rear seat. I am 6ft 250 and can sit fine in the back. It is surprisingly good in snow and windy weather. Again we have the bare bones model if you can't get a big discount or 0% interest I would go with something like a cheep Golf or Honda but this is a pretty good ride for the money again if you get a good deal. The handling I think is much like my Golf was, it dose not pretend to to have a big soft ride like some other small cars. This suits me fine since I do not always drive it on the best of roads and it zips around in town corners @35 pretty good without slowing down. I have worked on cars my whole life, including modern computer controlled engine management systems, and can't imagine anyone saying that it would be hard to work on this car. There is gobs of room under the hood and everything is laid out in a very clean simple modular manner. The exhaust system is simple and should be easy and cheep to replace. The belts look easy to get at. The front suspension looks a bit light weight and I hope that dose not end up wearing out prematurely. My goal is 3 years 90k on only recommended maintenance, I guess time will tell. Any more will be icing on the cake. I am 1/3 way there GOOD START.

Was very satisfied with my car at first, until going out to drive it one morning to work, and a big puddle of oil was on the ground under my car on the passenger side. Car had only 5000 miles on it. Took it to the dealer for repair (which thank god it is still under warranty) and they had to replace an oil gasket. Dealer said he hoped he didn't have to fix too many of these. It took them 7 hours to replace the part

great vehicle but worried about its crash ratings. We have two in the family an 05 aveo and an 07 aveo ls sedan. the 05 with 45k miles and the 07 with 3k and both have been flawless

Horrible Car! Three oil leaks, air conditioning broke, front and back windshield water pump broke, transmission and air conditioning issues all within two and a half years. Purchase at your own risk.

Yes it was cheepish,I've had my Avio for a little over a month,and reading other peoples opinion of these little cars, to me try the 5-speed its reasonably snappy,my family is happier with the leg,and head room,than in my Acura Integra , My husband is over 6'8,and my kids are 6',and they fit,and It gets nearly as good of gas milage as my old sport car,37-40 highway,for the price it seems to be a good value,Ive had a lot of compliments on the color,mine is the special spring addition called Maui blue,people approch me quite often to tell me they love the color,did I mention it rides more like a much larger car,but turnes like the compact it is,yes I would recomend it to a friend

I love my little car. It's a gas sipper and is fun to drive. My ONLY complaint is the high beam indicator light is extremely bright, almost to the level of distracting. I will say I personally wouldn't want to be an adult in the backseat, but it's big enough to haul the kids around in.

I bought a 2007 Chevy Aveo hatchback in December brand new. It has been in and out of the shop going on five times and only has 4000 miles on it. First my alternator needed to be replaced, that took two trips to the shop for them to figure out what was wrong. Now it?s been in the shop for the past month because the gaskets and seals blew (after I took it to the dealer for an oil chance) which took two try?s to fix also. I got it back on a Friday and that Sunday I noticed there was still something wrong with it. The engine is shaking and the car shimmies and it makes horrible noise now the engine light is on. I wouldn?t recommend this car to anyone. I live 30 miles from school and bought a new car so I would have something reliable and this car has been nothing but trouble.

This is a great car or a great bang for your buck, first of all the gas miliage is wonderful for where gas prices are almost at 3 bucks a gallon. Its got allot of zip in the motor, great pick up when getting on the highway. The only thing I hate in the interior is the poor cup holder, and no center console. Also the seats could be a bit softer but when you get it new ther are always hard. The wonderful choice of colors the best is Icelandic blue. Yes the ride is a bit nosy but thats because of poor highyway roads, the handling around corners is wonderful. The features on the car as a whole are just what you want for a small car. Only one thing GM should have made on-star on this car, but Triple A, and a cell phone will suffice. but like I've said this is a great gas saving car if you still own a SUV or a big gas hog and want to save then get this car, other than that if you like to pay allot for gas than you better get a loan for your big gas guzzlers because the people who own these will probally be on the road while you are at the pump. Chevy has out done itself with this car, where as ford has closed it Escort line down a few years back. people will be getting cars with better gas miliage.
