Camaro Z28 is a Great First Car!

I will start by saying I am probably biased towards this car as it was my first. I was lucky enough to get the 2000 Z28 as my first car and boy am I sad that I had to let it go after a year and a half of ownership. The cost to performance ratio is amazing, you can pick one up so cheap and have an amazing car that beats most on the road. I will say the 2 faults on this car are the radio and the headlights as with the C5 Corvette. I would recommend adding the cost of a new radio and some headlights into your budget when looking for one of these.

Beautiful and Fasssst Car!

One of the nicest sport cars made! Power like the 60's models! A thrill to drive! This car is for having fun, not a daily driver but that is up to you!

Absolute best car to own

Forget the japanese cars. This car is THE BOMB. absolutely fun to drive. I'm always amazed by it's power every time I drive it. I have the V6 version with 160k and it still has some power. the previous owner didnt really take care of it so there are some paints scratches on it but it still turns heads. It makes me want to buy the v8 and new transmission so I can really show off this bad boy. I'm taller so the comfort could be better but I never want to get rid of this car. Hooked for life on convertibles because of this car.

SS vs. SS

I have had a pair of Chevy SS's, a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 and then bought a new Camaro SS in 2000. Guess which one I still have...you bet, the Camaro. LS1 is super reliable, 32 mpg on the interstate all day long, corners hard enough to pull your teeth out. I put the module in to defeat the dreaded 1-4 skip shift, a K&N filter, a battery and a set of tires. Keep a check on the rear differential seal and the rear end will never give you trouble as long as all the fluid does not leak out! Limited slip works great. Still has original brakes, clutch and flywheel at 86,000 miles. The Chevelle was awesome pretty to look at but a beast to drive, cornered like a land boat and got 8 mpg. The Camaro interior is not the greatest, the visors break easily, front speakers blown. No problems with t-tops, cruise control, anything else! Runs all day long, get one. I like the body style better than the new ones, and still turns heads at local car shows. Funny, I drove a buddy's 1969 Camaro Z28 302 4spd in high school that he was fixing up to sell, as well as a friends 1969 Yenko 427 (in 1974 they were selling for about 800 bucks!), and wanted a Camaro since driving those two vehicle, why did I wait until 2000? IDK....buy one now!

My Camaro is A 2000 V6 auto, and i really love driveing it !! This car is Black w/tinted windows, t-tops, and fast! I love it ... I had it passed 130 and still had some petal, and it corners like its on rails.. I keep it well mantianenced and so its has never disapointed me in any way.. i love the body style over the new 2012 model.. I got it used and it was at good price and in great shape... and now a year has passed and i'm still love driveing My Camaro.. And yes i still drive it over 100 85% of time ... over 119,000 miles on it, and runs better then any car i have drove... I'm never going to sell it ...

AWSOME!

I was 16 when i first got my 3.4 v6 camaro. I loved it to death. it lasted me up to 235,xxx. Of course pervous owners wrecked it so i had some body damage. but after that i bought my 2000 z28. I can say that i do not regret buying it. It has the power i want and the awsome look that turns head. I will never sell it. And i would recomend it to anyone who is a car enthusaes. P.S. The LS1 moter is a beast and it like a tank!

2000 Z28 are not bad cars at all

I own one. I put 241,000 miles on it commuting. 24-25 mi per gal. Week point of the car is the rear end. Rebuilt it 3 times. If I could have a crystal ball, I would have purchased an aftermarket rear end. Then i could have concentrated on other parts of the car. With decent maint. the car could run for a long time. What I dont know is what was GM thinking when they designed the crummy console. Almost all of the ones I see have a broken lid. Replacement lids are expensive. Other than that is was a god car...

Dream Car

My husband and I purchased our SS used with only 9800 miles on it in 2006 and has never given us any trouble at all. This has been a dream of ours since we could remember. It is an everyday car for my husband but I do like to drive it when I can. We LOVE the power and reliability. We have gotten stopped many times by unknowns with a thumbs up. Many have told us to keep this due to its design, sound and beauty. Ours is very sporty, beautiful and fun. YES I would reccommend this to anyone that wants a fun and long lasting vehicle. Taken on many road trips with its t top open and able to pass many vehicles when needed with ease!!! A KEEPER!!

What a GREAT car

We bought this car for a great price. It had low miles but not all that well maintained. After going through the engine, transmission and brakes, new tires and a little paint it "runs like new". Absolutely the best car to own!
