you can do so much better
really a disappointment from day one. placement of the power window buttons was bad, turning radius is way to wide making parking difficult, paint on radio and door handles chipped off, a/c when on full blast sounded like you were in a wind tunnel If your thinking of buying a Equinox look into a used Honda Pilot or a Toyota Highlander If you must have new the Mitsubishi Outlander is a gem for the price.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR
We have had problems with this car form about 200 miles on. Everything from the front end suspension to the transmission. The road noise is unbearable. We are two years into this car with 25,000 miles and we are trying to trade it in. The car is worth nothing. I paid well below sticker and I am still having to put 5,000.00 into the deal because of the value. The car is in the shop at least twice a month. PLEASE do not buy this car. Spend your money on a Honda or Toyota, American cars are not worth the trouble.

Save your money. Buy something else.
This is not a cheap car. For the LS (low-midlevel) trim with the only option a towing package (trailer hitch and ash tray, i dont know why either?) i am paying well over $32000 canadian (about $30500 US). Theres nothing special about the exterior styling, it definately would not stick out or grab attention. Its proportioned strangely, the front lights are substanitially larger than the small, fake chrome rear lights. The inside doesnt get much better. Inside the small easily scratched trunk on either side are large pillars, most likely housing struts or shocks. They SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the size of the trunk but they hold a shelf to create a privacy cover. Only problem, because of the pillars it does not cover the entire trunk making privacy a lost cause. I had to fold down the seats to fit 2 golf bags (my 2001 hyundai elantra SEDAN easily holds 3 in the trunk, no questions asked. A nice feature though- the rear bench slides forward/back. All seats are hard flat with little padding and no support. In the back there are 2 speakers, DC power (thank god) 2 flimsy cupholders and 2 headrests (no armrest?). The materials throughout are a uncomfortable at best with rough fabric and hard plastic. The dash is flat and looks like they forgot to actually DESIGN it. It has a great stereo with no remote wheel buttons and the cruise control gets accidentally turned on and there is no warning light. Everything fits together looseley and the steering is vvery lige- alittle to lighvt. Performance is decent with a 3.5L V6 turning a disappointing 185 hp. It has rusted twice in 2 years and GM won't take responsibility. I can't wait to trade it in for a Hyundai Santa Fe next year when my lease is up.

Great So Far
I have had this vehicle two and a half years....has 34,900 miles on it. The only thing I have had to replace is the battery. It was only due to extremely high heat here in AZ. Anyhow, my only complaints are the interior cloth collects any type of stains and they are impossible to get out. The buttons on the CD/Stereo started chipping off the week I got the vehicle. Other than that, it rides well...plenty of room and low price for what you get.

do not buy if you are looking for a reliable car
I brought my equinox within the first year they came out. Bad choice. the style I love. but the performance is very bad. brake work done and still having problems with them. The ride is hard. Almost three years with this SUV, I 'm thinking about trading it in. Never will buy a chevy again.

All around good SUV for the avg. faimly
I like the new handling design along with the styling exterior. The movable back seat is great with seats that fold down flat. This SUV is a great all around vehicle. Good with light towing and hauling. A great value for the dollar.

Good looking, bad performing
I bought this SUV after review the rest of the makers, at it has a great interioor space, but after the first 25,000 miles the headlights start getting water inside and that's not cover by the warranty. I did recomended this vehicle to a couple of friends and they do have the same problem without aby fix from the manufacturer. Avoid, buying or recomending this vehicle.

Wonderful
This is one of the best vehicles I have owned. I really enjoy the room and driving it. It has handled very well and I think that overall they are very worth the money. Also a very classy looking vehicle.

not reliable
I have had trouble out of my equinox from about 10 thousand miles and it still hasn't stopped. Now it has 51,000 miles and the transmission is out of it with no warning. I also had trouble out of the breaks grinding so loudly that you can't even talk on a cell phone or anything while going down the road. The interior stains so badly that if you drip water it will leave a spot that won't come off. While driving down the road in the rain it hydroplanes so badly that it scares you to death. When I get the transmission fixed I am trading it in and buying a nissan. They will last most of the time till you get them paid for. The back seat has a lot of room but very uncomfortable. If you ride for a couple of hours your back hurts and you have to get out for a while.
