nice car

I have owned many new cars but this was my first experience in a SUV/Crossover. I bought it new and it has been great, no major problems or issues and I drive the car alot. I have over 90K on the car and it still looks and drives nice. I would say it is a great car. My car has the sun roof and the LT package, it was all the stuff I needed.

reliable

I have been looking at the Equinox for a while and you see alot of them on the road.I like dealing in cars and I am a GM man all the way. so today I go to the repo sale and bought a 2005 Equinox LT AWD with 70k on it. I love it!!!! I thought the ride and acceleration was Great!!! I have to say I like the way the AWD handles compared to the 2WD.It snowed about 3 to 4 inch while we were at the sale and the equinox handled great in the snow.Alot of people say the 3.4 isnt powerful in them but I have to say you have to watch your speed.I have a 2000 Grand Am with the 3.4 and it is a power house and gets great fuel mileage.I havent checked the Equinox mileage yet but it seem to do good just by gauge on a 215 mile trip home, from full to about 3/4 tank left.I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking for a Sporty SUV."

disappointed

I have had this vechile for 7 months now, problem after problem, windshield wiper blade snapped in half, door creaks when you open it (it cracked), it won't start everytime (the dealership has had it in the shop 4 times) and still cannot figure it out! Just one thing after another! I was attracted to the outside appearance , boy can 'looks' be disceiving!

I Tried It and Loved It

What hooked me: loved the color (salsa red); the exterior was beautiful...it was love at first sight. The test drive...WONDERFUL! No discomfort and I felt like I was riding in a limo! Why I purchased: I was having challenges with cars (knees)and this was made for a person of my stature (6'2" tall and heavy). This was very roomy and as a driver, I found the ride to be smooth and comfortable to accommodate me and my 6'5 son. Did a 200 mile round trip the weekend after purchase and loved the gas mileage and also getting in and out was NO problems on my knees. Also a good help with senior relatives...all my passengers raved about how comfy they were! Well, the negative: I'm not too pleased with the cloth seats (the color is too light and I'm concerned about stains), but I can get seat covers. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. She's NOT a gas guzzler and I can just rave all day about the comfort I'm experiencing. Why didn't I buy an SUV sooner? I guess it was fear of the gas prices and cost, but I've learned that you have to go with what works in terms of comfort level in driving and this is it! My daughter had ranted to me about getting an SUV...this time I listened! She was right! I would highly recommend an Equinox...

I like this vehicle

First newer vehicle I have owned, I really like it so far, no problems, don't like where the window controls are, also, vehicle is a little bit small compared to the big suburban I am used to. It looks nice, gets good mileage, I am very happy.

Don't Buy

This car was poorly put together. CD player quit after two years. Had to replace the tires after 40,000 miles. Brakes after 47,000 miles. Now the wire harness for driver side door, all in less than 3 years. Save your money and don't buy a GM.

DON'T BUY IT!!!

Ok here's the deal with me and my family. We bought the car in 2005 in early September then we traded it in in late December. We have our reasons, let me explain. We nearly crashed a couple of times because the brakes completly failed. The interior collects every little stain and keeps it forever like a little souvenier. When you acelerate the car sometimes pulls back and is so noisy you can't ever talk to the person next to you. This car is very unreiable and is horrible for resale value. We traded it in for a Nissan Pathfinder, now that's a real car! I think that the Chevy must have been high when they made this car!

I like it.

I have over 60K miles on mine and it has run really well. No serious problems at all and it has been very reliable. Headlight was a pain to replace when it burned out but I can live with it for reliablility. The heater/ac fan is very powerful on high but the car stays very comfortable on the coldest or warmest of days because it is moving plenty of air. My complaints..the material covering the seats stains to easily..it's a pain to keep the seats clean. Paint is coming off on the buttons of the radio but I got the factory default which is a pretty cheap radio and it's easy enough to replace if I want to. It works good and sounds great. Other then that not one problem and it's fuel efficient and has a ton of room for the back passengers!
