Most reliable car I've owned

Good car for a worker who drives often or a small family. Low maintenance car that is reliable. Rides smooth, and V6 allows for good acceleration on the highway. Lots of cargo space in the trunk.

Seat belt problems

I was in a accident in my 2012 impala. After being rear ended my seat belt would not work. Bruises on my left shoulder. Air bag light was on . I'm hoping that my shoulder is not in so much pain in the morning. I hate hospitals but if I still feel the tightness going to the ER . One great thing about my Impala rocks. I was slammed in the rear of my car . Walked away. The officer at the scene tried to help on the seat belt . Car had to be towed . Could not get seat belts to work

All the bells and whistles I could ask for.-Mats S

Mr Bracey is the most caring salesman I've ever dealt with. His intergrity and character was one that is not typical of most salesmen. It was refreshing to see the desire to fulfil my needs and not feel pressured to close the deal

Giddy Up!

My fourth purchase influenced by cars.com since 2004. I purchased vehicle back in August. Yes, I personally prefer the 2014 Impala refresh. Yes, it's a bland body design boring drivers since 2006. Yes, the interior is cheap but relatively comfortable. Yes, it was a FAIR value for the money. Yes, this car has some giddy up and go! 2012 was the year GM introduced the 3.6 litre V6 and six speed variable auto tranny to the Impala. Yes, it's an aluminum block which has me concerned about long term viability (remember the Vega?), but the low end torque is a delight reminiscent of the old 3.8 litre engines I had in a 1999 Lumina LTZ and 2003 Impala base. Those powertrains were 200 HP. This is 305 HP. I don't feel much difference in handling. This Impala handles well on the highway with passing and avoidance maneuvers. Gas mileage is a consistent 22 mpg (full disclosure: this is the 9C3 police package). I will admit the drivetrain is a little noisy in the 60-65 mph range and I cannot figure out why as ther are no trans or engine anomalies I'm aware of.The Goodyear Eagle RSA tires hug the road and offer a sense of security. Would I recommend this model? Yes. Will I run this car to the end of it's line? Absolutely. I have every confidence this vehicle will last until at least 200 - 250K miles (there was 26.5K on odometer when purchased) before I pass it on to a family member.

2012 LT Impala

I own a 2012 LT Impala and I truly enjoy the powerful engine it contains under that hood. The vehicle runs and drives smoothly while being more than capable of responding to one's need for speed. I also own a Lexus ES350 (V6) and a Nissan Sentra (4 cylinder), and I must say I do not really like the way the Impala's engine sounds. The best way I can describe the aforementioned is by saying it sounds cheap. It is not a quiet and nice-sounding engine like the other vehicles I own. I do not like the exterior style of the Impala, I feel like Chevrolet could have done something that is not so boring. The same thing goes for the inside; I think it looks boring with little to no class. Those, however, are just personal opinions. Furthermore, the vehicle is reliable and for the price you are getting something more than descent!

2012 LTZ - Love love love this car

I bought my 2012 LTZ in July of 2013 with 12K on it. It now has 60K and other than an issue with an O2 sensor causing the check engine light to come on, the only thing that I have done to the car is replace the tires. (The tires were good, but I'm not a Goodyear fan, and the more miles I put on it, the noisier they seemed to get). I now run Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires on it... THEY ARE LIKE GLUE in ice and wet roads!! I commute about 20 miles one way every day into the Wichita Metro and love how this thing will just coast down the freeway at 80 mph like nothing is in it's way! This is my second Impala. I traded in my 05 LS with 178K and the 3.8 V6, this 3.6 V6 has so much more pep than that old 3.8 steady eddy. I have noticed that this car doesn't get as good of gas mileage, however, it's so sporty I like the "rumble" it gives when you really push it!

Rocket ship (compared to what I had)

Bought this car a little over 3 months ago and I LOVE it so far. I had an '08 LS and liked it enough that I wanted to stick with an impala. Basically the same looking car but with a lot more power (89 more HP), leather, BOSE sound system and way better handling with the same suspension as the Camaro SS. Pretty happy with this purchase.

75k mile review

Bought used in April 2013 with 34,000 miles and now has 75,000 miles on it. This is a solid car and a great used value. I commute from rural southwest suburbs of chicago to midway. Winter driving has been good and was able to get pretty decent traction. Fuel economy dips slightly in winter averaging about 21-22, but all other seasons my real world average is about 22.5-24.5., not bad for a v6 with 300 hp. The engine sounds great, fast, reliable and have not had any problems with timing chains like the earlier 3.6s. I do change oil every 5,000 miles with dexos approved synthetic oil, usually mobile 1. Do not listen to the dash computer on oil percentage. The 6 speed transmission seems pretty solid with no sign of wearing out anytime soon. Pros- value, 3.6l v6, fuel economy, roomy, 6 speed automatic, huge trunk, fold down rear seats, quick, bose speakers. Cons- exterior and interior outdated Problems- only problem I had was a engine service light which ended up being a gas tank vent. Common for w-body cars supposedly. Fixed that and no problems since. Overall fantastic and simple car that's comfortable to commute with everyday. Highly recommended
