I love this car!
I'm saving so much on gas and it is far more comfortable than other hybrids. When looking for a hybrid, I found most of them look like "mom cars". The Malibu Hybrid is NOT the case! It has a fierce exterior and in interior built for a family with teenagers. Very impressed!

Great car for the money
2018 Malibu hybrid - the car lives up to all expectations. I have had it for little over a month now, 1600 miles so far. The dealer where I bought it had several of them with a very sizeable discount, about $10 K off the sticker. Mine has leather interior and glass roof all the way to the back seats- love it. The good: The car looks great inside and outside. Very comfortable, quiet ride. Simple, intuitive, easy to operate center console. Lane keep assist - gentle and unobtrusive. Fuel economy - on my 20 mile commute with 25 traffic lights my average MPG are in the upper 40s, as advertised. On some trips in the 50s. That said, beware- the MPGs suffer a lot once you turn on a heater or AC, much more so than on the gas powered car, because engine needs to run a lot more just to make heat, circulate water and/or drive ac compressor. This is so in all hybrids. Worst case, on days like that the hybrid just becomes a car with a pretty decent fuel economy in the upper 30s. Few shortcomings: you won't like it if you need strong pick-up off the stop and zippy drive- this one doesn't have it. Collision sensor - first few times it came on (was set too sensitive) it almost freaked me out. Then I turned the sensitivity down some, it got better. Another area where a slight improvement may be needed is when you come out of a turn, if you release the steering wheel hoping that the car will straighten out itself, it will just continue driving in a circle. I need to guide the car through the turn all the way. Also, does not have either a CD player or thumb drive USB port. Has radio, including XM, and can connect a phone, which I haven't bothered to do yet. Doesn't have a spare tire, unlike some competing full size sedans (Camry and I think Accord hybrids). Overall none of it is that big a deal for me.

Forget the Prius and get the Malibu Hybrid.
This is the first hybrid I have ever purchased, but not the first I've ever driven. The Malibu hybrid is great for the price. The car has all the tech I need, rides well and quite, and handles better than expected. I do wish the seat belts could be adjusted up and down, for grab handles on the interior roof, and ac seats. A primer hybrid edition would also be great. (Are you listening Chevy?) Also if you want to achieve the stated MPG you should use cruise control whenever possible, and take it easy on the gas pedal. I would buy another one again without thinking twice.

I cannot believe that Chevrolet is not shouting
I cannot believe that Chevrolet is not shouting from the rooftops that this is an excellent vehicle that gets fabulous mileage!! I average 48 + miles per gallon and this is a nice not so tiny car!! I have friends that have all these teeny tiny cars that get good mileage but they are so small and the ride is not very comfortable. This car is not as comfortable and plush as the Impala, but it is very, very nice in the big and safe categories. It is much more comfortable to ride in than a small car. This vehicle is also very peppy unlike many hybrid "foreign" cars.

Malibu Hybrid EXCEEDS Expectations!!
The 2018 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is proof positive that a Hybrid automobile need not be ugly. This vehicle has attractive styling inside and outside and features all of the amenities - Wifi, Bluetooth, Rear Vision Camera, Anti collision avoidance and much more. It has plenty of power and the braking is comparable to standard disc brakes. And best of all the range on 14 gallons is almost 700 miles!!

Very good first impression
Malibu Hybrid is fairly well loaded and the price, net of rebates, creates an excellent value proposition. I have previously owned Lexus, Cadillac, and Buick. This car has attractive lines, a roomy interior and is very well equipped. I was attracted to the hybrid technology. At 400 miles the city driving is falling short of the EPA estimate of 49 MPG. My experience is in the 33-40 mpg range. Highway and mixed driving ranges from 40-46 mpg. Dealer insists that the car needs a 500-1000 miles break in period to reach EPA numbers. Overall, if you are looking for a very good ride in a nice package and you are not relying on your car to boost your self esteem this may be for you.
