Best Purchase I have Made!
I currently own a 2005 and have owned it for the last year and a bit. This car with the Traction Control handles excellent in the snow and rain. All of the controls are easily reached without having to search or stretch for them, the adjustable peddals are an added bonus if you have two people of two very different heights driving it, rather than adjusting the seat. I have two toddlers so the sliding and reclining rear seats is a plus for me, they fall asleep and I tilt their seats back. It is very economical and on the highway have actually reached 32 mpg. This is an excellent family car for anyone not wanting an SUV or Mini Van! My husband and I agree that we would both buy another ones hands down. They are reasonably priced and just an all around excellent car.

over 3 years use
did not like rear dvd, glass roof, heavy steering, plastic under panels that rattle. like power, handling, big tires and it could be towed behind my motorhome without modifying transmission. poor power steering design that klunks and fails.

The BEST
The best car I have ever owned. We have had the car for 8 months and we love our Jewel. We have put 5000 miles on her, no problems at all. For the money you can't beat it.

Maxxed out
I have had my 2005 Maxx since Feb. 05. I bought it with 13 miles on it and it now has 21,000. I love the suped up station wagon look (as my friends call it), but hate all of the problems. I had to get a complete brake job last week at a cost of $550. I was told by two seperate brake mechanics that these cars need new rotors every 20,000 miles. One said I was the third person in the area to come in this year needing new rotors, pads, and shoes with a mileage under 25,000. We have also had fuse problems, fuel pump issues and a strange mood swing where my lights would flicker on and off (when it was checked out at the dealership, they had no clue what was wrong- it stopped on its own within a week). I love the car and the fact that I only have to fill the tank once every two weeks, but I can not justify paying two months worth of car payments on a complete brake overhaul every year.

To the Maxx
When it was time to trade in the 2nd car, I was looking for a vehicle with all the bells and whistles at a decent price. I was also looking towards a forign vehicle, but when I drove the Maxx I was surpised. Though the car looks big and heavy, the acceleration was more than decent. And rides like a luxury car. Then I started noticing that there were bascially no options. It had everything I was looking for (disk/ABS brakes all the way around, killer sounds, power remote mirrors, windows, cruise, sliding rear seats, hatch, 16 inch rims, power pedals, sun roof, and the list goes on). There wasn't anything I wanted that was not already on this car. But what was really amazing was the price was in my range. And to top it all of it was AMERICAN! After driving the car for 2 months in Chi-town the only slight complaint is when travling over bumps, the car makes some clanking sounds. My wife also mentioned she feels safe driving the car even in adverse wheather (it's been raining alot). Over all, it is really nice to know we still now how to build a really good car, at an affordable price.
