Rides like a truck should
I recently purchased a 05 Silverado Z71 ext cab with the aluminum 5.3 I love this truck so far. It looks and drives like how a truck should. The gas mileage is good for a full size truck. I average 18.5 mpg in a 50% mix of city and highway driving. The intermediate steering shaft on these trucks is notorious for having issues.

it's a good all around truck
I was excited when i bought this rig it had only 26000 km on it. I have had it in the shop a couple of times once the airconditioner died so they took the airconditioner appart 2 times and recharged it. it took them 6hrs to find the problem It ended up being a wire that had corrodid. The next one was the tires started chunking appart and had uneven wear so they gave me new ones the same type so I sold them and bought good ones . other that that i've enjoyed my truck and hope to for years.

I've ALWAYS owned Chevys
I totally LOVE the 2005 silverado quad cab I bought my hubby! I even paid to have a $3,000 stereo installed and a remote start alarm system. I'm not sure though who likes driving it more, me or him!! NEVER any trouble, just your basic preventative maintenance. I'd highly recommend Chevy to anyone any day!!

Fantastic, Reliable Truck, Great MPG
Always meets, usually beats MPG rating. I have to drive like a maniac to get down to 22 MPG highway. The most comfortable, reliable truck I have ever owned for long trips. The only complaint I can think of is the quality of the O/E tires, not the best traction after 50% wear.

My 2nd 2500HD, all around winner
I purchased this 2500HD after a lemon law issue with a 2004 model (in the end, had wires crossed in the ABS sensor). It is the extended cab, standard 6.5' bed model, 4x4 with the 6.0L engine and 4.10 rearend. It is the LS model with several options. Cons: It handles rougher than the 2 wheel drive version. Turning radius is ok but could be better. 13MPG, ranges from 12 to 14 no matter how or where I drive, 8mpg with a heavy load. Could use an extra overdrive gear. Trans likes to stay near 4000 RPM when under extreme load (that is the optimum for HP and torque, so assuming it is a feature, but makes the tranny run very warm) Pros: Rated for 10,000 pounds, and while hauling a 9200 pound trailer, in the gravel, it purrs and moves forward like there is nothing there. When merging on the highway unloaded, if you stomp it, you will love it. Very smooth and almost scary power from 30mph to 60. Very reliable, At 40k miles, I haven't done anything but put oil in it every 5k miles. Putting stupid amounts of cargo in the bed doesn't phase it. Opinion: If I hauled every day, I would have opted for the diesel. Not that there is a problem with the 6.0, but it isn't the engine for hauling 10k pounds every day. If you need to put 3000+ pounds in the bed every day, then it is fine. (rated for 3750). It does everything it says it will do, but does it better than I thought it would. Honestly, if I had to haul something that weighed 15,000+ pounds (it is rated for 10,200) I would not think twice about it, assuming it wasn't 100 degrees out and I kept the speed reasonable. Insanely good work truck. I will say it is best at 65mph or less due to the 4.10 gears, and it sets up high enough that if you don't have a bed cover (I usually do) it wants to walk a little in the back end, but this is normal for any truck like this. Interior is reasonably good, seats get a bit tiring after an hour on the road and have moderate support (LT version probably is better) All and all, I have been very happy with this truck after 2 years and 40k miles.

First full sized owned
I have an extended cab Z71 that is full loaded and is a very comfortable truck. The only dislike I have with the truck is the excessive torque control GM puts into it through the engine management system. The result is not being able to use the full potential of the 310 HP available...

23000 problem free miles.
More truck than I need. I average 12 to 14 mpg. All the controls are placed well. Great sound system. Seats 6 with room to spare. towing average loads is no problem. Ride is ruff (4x4) without a load.

the best truck i have had yet!!! I have had no problems over the past 2 years or so since I bought it. It has the best ride with the most comfort of any truck on the road. I highly recommend it over a dodge or ford which are the two trucks I have had in the past.
