Love this truck!!!!

Was stuck between the new Tundra and the Silverado. Went with the Chevy when the 2000 dollar owner loyalty rebate came out. Not sorry at all that i did. What a great truck! I bought a 2 wheel drive extended cab with the 5.3. It doesn't have the power the 5.7 in the Tundra had, but it's got plenty. The active fuel management is flawless, and I'm getting between 18 and 19 mile per gallon in about a 25/75 mix of city highway. Just took a 500 mile trip and averaged almost 21. I have to agree with Lee about the seats and everything sticking to them. Kind of a pain to keep clean. And why still useing a 4 speed transmission? It works fine but I think a 5 or six speed would help fuel mileage even more. The onstar is a nice feature, and customer service there is great. Put this truck on your list and check it out before you buy!

A complete Review

Pros: [Styling]:All new design (2007)... Gotta keep up with the "Jone's" Better aerodynamics helps the MPGs. [Performance] (w/ V Max 6.0L and Z-71 package): Road handling is the best on the market as far as car like ride goes. Amazing gas mileage considering the size/power of the engine. Sound quality is much improved over previous models, w/ less road noise & improved audio quality. [Interior]: The best on the market, only the Tundra can compare. Great power adjusting seats. All the dash components feel solid. [Quality]: GM has come a long way. Now people just have to get over the stigma of past quality issues. GM has met the Japanese manufacturers head on. Cons: [Styling]: Biggest con- doesn't look like a truck. The 4WD and 2WD have the same stance. [Performance]: on road performance is what saves this vehicle. The off-road performance is atrocious, from approach and departure angles to ground clearance. [Interior]: LTZ interior could use much more storage. All models could use a better center console. Tundra's interior is much more useful. [Quality]: Sorry, no complaints here. Overall Review: I've owned a couple trucks and have driven and test drove lots more. And with that I choose the Silverado over the Tundra, just barely and mostly for what I felt a little more bang for the buck. My biggest question is; Can I get a truck that acts like a truck anymore? The manufacturers are so worried about all the car like ride amenities to get high remarks in Consumer Reports & the like they have forgotten their target audience. At east make an off-road Z-71 look, well, off-road, that's a thought. I don't want a 100% off-road vehicle but it should be able to do a little and should slightly exceed previous models. My S-10 ZR2 did better and looked like a truck. Give the truck a better stance (improved approach & departure angles, and ground clearance) and more aggressive tire (at the expense of noise). With that being said, I still say with its great on road handling, quality build inside and out, and great engine and fuel economy you won't be disappointed.

Just a GREAT truck !! 2008 2500HD

This is my 2nd dura-max and it is so much more improved than my 2004. Preformance is out of this world and the ride is car like. I pull a 13000 lb 5th wheel and it's like pulling nothing. Mileage empty is 21-22 mpg at 65mph on the flat. When hooked up I get and honest 12 mpg all day. The only thing I hate is the heater controls, give me knobs not push lights.

Great Riding Vehicle

I have a 2008 1500 Silverado and the only complaint I have is the Seating. It attracts alot of lint. Everything sticks to it. Chevrolet has been notified. Recommend consumers have leather.

The Best Truck I Ever owned.

My 2500 HD is the best riding truck, You would never know you were driving a truck. I have the 6.0 L. And it has plenny of power even when towing a load. I've been getting about 15 M.P.G. not bad for a big V8. The interior has lots of room and is very comfortable. The exterior not only looks tough but is tough. I would like to see them put bigger tires on it, but other than that I love my 2500 HD 4x4.

Worst reliability of any truck yet

I bought this truck 2 weeks before a cross country trip and regret ever taking it, It is still 2 states away in the shop. It left my family and I on the side of the road 4 times. I love the interior and the navigation was great. The desiel has less power and pick up than my 2006 Duramax. ( I had friends pick us and the fifth wheel up with my 06 when we left the new truck a few states back). I will tow from now on with the 06 and leave the 07 at home. My review, Leave it at the dealership or it will leave you on the side of the road and you'll leave it in another state. (truck has 6,000 miles so far)
