Giving GM a shot
I've driven primarily Honda/Toyota products for the last several years. I thought i would go test drive the Silverado and next i knew i was driving it home. I can say that i'm genuinely happy with the purchase. Very quiet at cruise and so far no rattles, squeaks, or vibration. Power is more than adequate with the 5.3 and transmission is seamless. Interior room is more than adequate and the OnStar system seems more useful than i remember reading about. Overall, love the truck.Even mileage so far is better that expected(average 17-19 mixed driving) Experience with dealer was as good as any Honda/Toyota experience and could not beat the deal. Rebates/Auto Show bonus money and 0% 72 month money. Time will tell but, GM may have earned my business again.

4x4 Reg Cab
The truck is comfortable and looks sharp. The 4.8 V8 is not as thrifty as expected. Over all a good value if it is reliable

2011 Silverado 4x4 Crew cab
Nothing is perfect but the 2011 Silverado has come close. The LTZ has it all and is number 1 in confort and quality. The 4x4 pulling power is impressive, the 6 speed transmission adds great power spread, the engine provides all the power you can use and all is packaged in a quite interior. All of this and it delivers the best fuel mileage and is allways ready to go. Only con is the back seat could use a little more leg room.

My return to pickups!
I've driven trucks almost all my life. That is until a couple years ago where I decided to try a Chevy Traverse. That was a GREAT vehicle, and amazingly capable, but in the end it wasn't what I wanted. So I traded it in on a 2011 Crew Cab 4x4. This truck is amazing! I bought the middle LT series, but added Z71 and leather seats. I couldn't find one with a NAV like I had in the Traverse, so I guess I'll add one later. Funny how it can be ordered, but you just can't find one on the lots. Seems the dealerships have no clue what the public wants any more. Anyway, that's what I love most about this truck, in that it is so customizable compaired to anything else you could drive. I've added a bed cover, and aftermarket windsheild washer heater (like they used to put on the Chevy trucks...) I've got a lot of other ideas to add things later, and they should all be quite easy. I was concerned about the ride of the Z71 package, being made for off-road. But, on road this truck rides extremely well. It's got plenty of power, but doesn't seem quite as peppy as an old 2000 Silverado I used to own. But that older Silverado was a 2x4, not 4x4 so I'm sure that's the reason. The sweet tone of the V8 as it accelerates is very satisfying. And the nimble stearing makes negotiating the roads a dream. It is long however, making parking lots a bit tight at times. So I often park a distance from the door of anyplace I visit. Which is not a bad thing either, in that the extra exersize is not a bad thing :)

Great comfort and style
I have owned many trucks over the years but drifted away for a while. I have found this year and model to be an exciting return to pickup truck ownership. I am a short bed syling lover so I elected the standard cab and short box LS trim version for this purchse. The short box/standard cab still presents itself as a classic style and catches attention wherever I drive it. I have added a chrome step in rail, bed liner and hard cover for the bed. The additional chrome on the side along witth the chrome wheels make the bright red body color stand out. The black hard cover for the bed adds a nice coordinating combination matching black to the bumper covers. The seats are some of the most comfortable that Chevy has produced and the interior is quieter than in past years. Improved ride of the chassis is also quickly noted. It is good to see the front end styling of the truck return to a much more appealing design than Chevy has exhibited in the last few years. The engine is smooth with a good power range and the transmissin is and matched well with the differential ratio. I am looikng forward to a lot of fun miles of driving and ownership.
