A very good truck that rides better than most cars

I owned a 2010 and a 2013 2wd Silverado. I then purchased this 2014 4wd and I have found the reliability to be great. I kept the 2014 for 40 months and 35,000 miles. In that time it had oil changes and about 4 recalls (done in 2 trips to the dealer). It even had the OEM wiper blades on it when I traded it in on a 2018 Silverado. On the highway it is smooth riding and normally at 75mph gets about 19-20mpg though I saw as high as the claimed 22mpg one time. Around town about 16. Mine had the annoying injection tick but that never hurt anything (They all do that sir). Great in the snow with the auto 4wd. I almost never used the 4wd position on the switch.

Super cool truck

Chevrolet completely redesigned the Silverado for 2014, and, boy, they totally nailed the design level to the max. The whole front end is what the definition of pick up truck is, modern and sleek. Along the sides and rear is all truck(so cool). So glad the bed is still made of high strength steel. As always, the interior of the truck is all function. Love the two-tear glove box configuration. Comfortable seats, functional center stack with easy to use and big buttons, which are big enough to be pushed on with gloves on, and plenty of storage everywhere inside, including storage in the front middle seat of the front bench seats. The engine (mine is the GM?s bread and butter, tried and true 5.3L V8) is so amazing, powerful and fuel efficient. I love the engine technology GM put in, that is variable valve timing, direct injection, and cylinder deactivation, meaning 4 out of 8 cylinder turn off during flat and cruising driving, maximizing fuel efficiency. Best suggested to get a bed cover for even more fuel efficiency. My favorite feature is the standard back-up camera(love it). Overall, fantastic truck and as always, Chevorlet makes the most dependable and most reliable vehicles of all automotive history. Five stars, all the way. Thank you, Chevrolet.

Quality American Made Truck

This truck is exactly was I was looking for. It handles smoothly and rides like a luxury SUV. The interior design is spacious and functional with many compartments to store everything I keep inside the truck

4 Year Summary of My 2014 Silverado 4 X4

My Silverado 4X4, equipped with the optional 5.3 liter engine (355 Rottweilers?) is a great truck? ? even my 5?2? ball-and-chain has no problems driving it! The engine has all the power and torque you will ever need. In fact, a recent new Dodge Ram owner can attest to how fast and stylish these trucks look, especially looking at it from the back-end... As a footnote: Our new truck salesman did not inform us that we could have also ordered the even bigger 6.2 liter engine - - to date, it?s only available on their extended cab trucks. What? That?s not right! Service has been really good with free oil changes and their willingness to work around our schedule (e.g., Saturday appointments and free washes during the warmer months). Until our last snow storm, our truck has been 100% trouble free for the last 4 years. The anomaly occurred after the storm when I tried to move the 4X4 selector switch to 2 wheel drive. The transfer case was stuck in 4 wheel drive and both front tires were locked into positive traction (both turned at the same time- - I think they are suppose to have limited slip. That is, when one tire starts to lose traction, the other tire will take over... Please don? start replacing parts if you encounter this anomaly because the fix turned out to be software related! Wow! I am getting old, every transfer case problem that I encountered was always mechanically related. The fix was free, but the ride was like being in a low-rider (front end would jump several inches off the ground when turning in either direction? ? if not on dirt or snow) Overall, my best Buddy, Lucky, the Lab mix (we go everywhere together) gives the Chevrolet Engineers a 9.5 out of 10 score. Lucky really likes how he can rest his head on the passenger-side rear view mirror assembly while checking out all the girls below. And, lastly, don? get all worked up about my wife comment! We have been together for 30 years and we still cherish each other.... Michael Dolce Kokomo, IN.

Better than most.

I drove 3 of these in the LTZ and 1 High Country and they all seemed to handle like the tires were out of balance and 2 of them had Michelins which led me to believe it was something else and one of them had a an issue as it shifted gears continously. I bought the Tundra. I had been a Chevy fan for years, but they have went down. I drove several other makes including Ford, Dodge, and Nissan, but preferred the Tundra. Check for recalls as i seen one on line that had a lot outstanding. Several had 2 or more. Chevrolet would be my 2nd choice maybe.

Very good truck for what it is

I owned this truck for a few years and did everything I needed it to. It is a big change to go from a four door vehicle to a 2 door. 4 wheel drive, paired with good tires on this truck is awesome in all conditions. One of the most powerful V6 engines around. The "E85" fuel feature is awesome, makes filling this big tank up not so bad.
