From nearly dead to a reliable beast

When I got mine it was in rough shape but a couple hours of work and some elbow grease she got new upper and lower control arms, new ball joints, realignment, tune up and a fresh radiator. She was been a dream other than her leather interior was practically destroyed when I bought it but she makes it 40 miles round trip 6 days a week with no issues. Even took her to another state a couple times (3-4 hour drive) and it was smooth sailing. If you keep up the maintenance on them they may out live you. She has 368,500 miles on her right now and I can trust her to keep on going.

Unreliable, cool, comfortable

Generally unreliable. Lots of problems on my low miles Tahoe. To be fair, repairs are often cheap and fairly easy to do yourself. VERY comfy. Excellent for road trips if you rebuild the suspension to avoid shaking on the highway.

Over 200K and going strong

I purchased my 1999 Tahoe in 2000. By far the best truck I have owned. Preventive Maintenance has been the reason for the performance and reliability. Having a great non-dealer mechanic is also a factor. I am convinced they are more interested in doing a good job VS trying to sell you a new one. I still have the same performance as when new. I still can't believe the fuel mileage I get on a road trip.

A war horse with a broken back and fragile legs

I purchased this vehicle used and it ran great. After one week it started to have numerous problems. Wouldn't start - had to replace a steering column theft safety sensor ($400). Then the key fob stopped working. Then the Spider Injector went bad (Too expensive to fix so I suffer with many start attempts). Then it started missing (bad rotor cap, plugs, wires). Then the brakes started to fail - peddle almost to the floor). Then the belt tensioner failed. Then the water pump leaked and had to be replaced. Then the four wheel drive selector broke. Then the power seat stopped working. Then the windshield wipers started acting up - when it rains they chose their own speed. Then the transmission started "shuddering". Now the horn won't blow. Not the relay, I changed that. Within a year and less than 150,000 miles it is falling apart. Junk.

Very nice Tahoe! We are very happy with the car.

The Tahoe is in nice shape for the year. We are very happy and look forward to enjoying it, and adding some accessories to make it ours. Thanks very much!
