Big bang for my bucks

This was my dream vehicle in 2004. More value than ever imagined. With my regular servicing I think there is much more value to come.

First SUV I’ve fallen for

I’ve always own cars and have worked on them my whole life, the Tahoe originally was a last chance, the only option left for a vehicle. Soon after owning it and driving and fell in love with the car, it’s weird driving something so top heavy and big but I love the space, comfort, and towing and hauling advantages, I can take everyone with me or put a mattress in the back and call it good. I would definitely recommend this vehicle over most and has definitely changed my view of SUVs and Chevy as a whole!

Has some faults, but still a great truck

Bought my '04 Z71 about 8 months ago and have loved every day with it. I bought it because of its reliability, off-road capabilities, and it's ability to tow the race car. The only issues that I've had that weren't a part of routine maintenance is a current tear in the drivers seat (just the quality of 2000s GM leather), the rear A/C control module went out ($100 and about 20 mins for me to replace), and the adjustable pedals don't move more than a quarter inch (not sure if motor or sensor is causing it but they're in a good spot so it doesn't bother me). Overall it's a great truck and I get plenty of compliments on it, especially on minor "Jeep" trails

Most reliable car Ive owned

Purchased an 04 Tahoe from the guys at Atlas Auto. Could not believe how clean the truck was for being an 04. Low mileage as well!

Reliable

Had this Tahoe for over 15 years and other than normal maintenance I have not had any repairs. Very nice vehicle to get my family to where they need to be and the extra space is nice when going on vacation. The biggest downside has been the gas mileage, but that is what you get in a large SUV. My other gripe is the vehicle has been garage kept and is beginning to significantly rust. I have noticed this on all GM trucks/SUVs from the 2000’s. If it wasn’t for the rust issues I would have given it an overall 5 stars.

Love Tahoes!

Like Tahoes and have had 2 (2001 & 2004) but my one complaint are rusty brake lines; just spent $670 to have brake lines replaced with stainless steel. For the cost of these cars the brake lines should be stainless steel when built

Best Ever

How I miss my Tahoe! I bought it used with 60K and drove it for 10 years. It was the best all-round vehicle I ever owned. Reliable, roomy, versatile and good mpg. I used it for camping, towing, hunting and fishing, and as a daily driver. I got over 20 mpg on the highway if I didn't push the limit. Unfortunately at 200K it had rust issues and some mechanicals that needed attention so I traded it. I would have bought another but the current generation has a funky 2nd seat that eats a lot of interior space. If you can find a clean Southern car with low miles, buy it!
