Great little SUV
Liked this car because I got the SUV feel but with car level gas mileage. Was a cute little vehicle, I only traded it for something just a little bigger.

$3000 engine repair needed before 30k miles.
My 2015 Trax required $3000 engine repair before it hit 30k miles. Due to the pandemic, I missed the manufacturer's warranty by 2 months. Dealership did nothing to help and GM customer service has been giving me the run-around for weeks. Do not buy a Trax - I think you'll regret it.

Compact AWD in Minnesota
This is my 1st SUV purchase. Bought a Certified Pre Owned LT AWD with a bit over 57,000 miles from a Chevy dealer near Minneapolis for a little over $16k with taxes and fees. Suspension is a bit stiff. Steering is sensitive. Brakes are good but a bit touchy when wet. Average MPG on dashboard seems odd - haven"t quite figured how that # is figured. Getting about 26 MPG with short commute. 625 1 way trip cruise control on 75 MPG was 29.2 with 1 person and 1 bag. It is AWD from stop to about 20 MPH then FWD. Rear wheels engage automtically when system detects sliding/slipping. Audio from Android phone to radio by bluetooth is somewhat quiet. Transferring Sim card to thumbdrive for USB is better. Not much road noise for SUV. Only bit louder than 95 camry it replaced. Great for basic SUV. If you want luxury fit for a king, I suggest something else. My 1st minnesota winter with this was mild, and this didn't complain.

Did I buy a lemon???
I bought this car from a very nice used car dealer and purchased an extended warranty. I've had to use the warranty twice in the 2 years I've owned it. The third time, the powertrain warranty issued with the car had to rebuild and repair the engine. It took over a month! I'm not sure what to think at this point.

Should have bought a Ford Escape
My wife traded in her high mileage but trusty Ford Taurus in 2017 for a 2015 Chevy Trax LT AWD with 32,000 miles. She got a job driving up to 100 miles / day on snowy Michigan roads and this car seemed to be the best fit at the time due to the AWD and averaging 27 mpg. We were looking at a Ford Escape but the Chevy dealer was easier to work with so we bought this instead. What a mistake! 2.5 years and 50,000 miles later, the Trax has been in the shop multiple times for break issues, electrical gremlins that caused the bluetoooth and AWD to malfunction and 4 oil leaks over the past year. This car is a prime example of GM's good ideas that are poorly executed. DO NOT BUY!

BEWARE of Chev Trax driving in winter.
In -10 degrees Celsius or colder the Trax intercooler lines freeze and GM solution of a cheap winter front does not prevent the problem. It continually shifts up and down resulting in excessive fuel consumption and high rpm revving of engine. GM is aware of this problem without providing a long term fix.

Not For Young Families
Bought this car prior to my daughter being born after lots of reviews and investigating. This vehicle was used (45k miles/well taken care of) and thought it would be perfect for our family of three.... SO VERY WRONG. You cannot put an infant car seat in the backseat without moving the seats forward, and you can’t sit the seats back completely even after the car seat is in place. the trunk is not big enough to hold a jogging stroller without taking the seat down or the stroller apart. Extremely unpractical and I’m so disappointed after owing it for a year and a half.
