Never buy a Trax

Nothing but problems, one owner, low mileage, plenty of unnecessary repairs… ac issues (several times already), engine tick, turbo went out (believe it’s going out a second time), overall xxx Should be many more recalls car is unsafe and way to new to be having any of these issues

If you like cheap and economical

Ive had my 2017 chevy trax LS about 2 yrs now. I bought it used with less than 30,000 miles on it, love the outside look of the car the inside however is another story. It is very uncomfortable, visors and rear view/side mirrors are so small they are worthless. The air conditioning/heating is terrible. No cruise control didnt think to ask just assumed i guess thats my fault. The major complaint that i have is when i am sitting with my car running there is this loud ticking noise coming from the engine. It sounds like a lifter tick. Other than the cons its an ok car if you like plain and economical. I was told by the dealership that it had a clean carfax but when i went to clean it out it had huge piece's of glass under the seat and you can definitely tell it has been repainted. Check your used cars out carefully. You never know.

NEVER AGAIN

I bought this vehicle as a used car 1 year ago. It is a 2017 and at the time it had 44,000 mi on it. It had been a lease car that I bought through Dillon Chevrolet. Since that time I have had 4 repair jobs on this vehicle. Right after the lousy 3 month warranty I had I had to replace all the spark plugs as well as a rotted coil pack... then about 4 months later the compressor for the A/C as well as another compressor issue...about 1200. in repairs.. now it is once again in the shop with a projected 450. in repairs.... I will NEVER buy another Chevy...

good car for the money

This car met most of my needs, Love the backup camera and alarm, and the blind spot warning lights in the sideview mirrors. This car has many features of the more expensive models. This car could use more cargo room, like better roof racks, and a larger cargo area. Overall it is well worth the money, if you don't need a pick-up.

Hope this helps someone else...

Purchased used 2017 stock (no cruise control, no tint, no roof rack, no power seats, basic) minus those it was simple and great overall. Only problem I had was a $40 valve piece easily replaceable via autozone. The piece is part of the emissions system which is under warranty until 60,000 miles. The valve opens up and releases emissions automatically. My valve would open too frequently creating a clicking sound very noticeable when ordering in a drive-thru as the sound would echo off the wall. Some research told described the issue spot on. The check engine light came on until I turned my car on again. When you turn the key the engine light comes on. Once the car actually starts, the light shuts off. It runs fine but the clicking sound grabs your attention. I took it to a mechanic because it's a $40 piece that can easily detach while car is off. The mechanic said the car is fine and plugging on the new valve would do nothing because the piece is naturally loud. I test drove another 2017 Trax and it ran much more quite. CANNISTER PURGE VALVE.....easy replacement for $40 bucks could probably do it yourself with tutorial. I lost the car due to accident soon after so I can't confirm the replacement solves this issue. It's possible you could waste $40 replacing it and it still makes the sound. Hope this helps !!

Nice, Little Car!

It doesn't have all the luxury bells and whistles, I was used to, but the very low miles and cleanliness of the car sold me.
