A gentleman's sports car.
Just purchased Avenger R/T FWD after months of intensive search in discovering my what I trully want and found the perfect, PERFECT match! Dead on compromize between comfortable practical sedan, and corner gripping mini muscle car. Where else could you possibly find a german engineered, japaneese platformed, american bread car?! Enuff power to enjoy the ride without exagerated gaz consumption. Very quiet interior with all the latest gadgets. A muscular look without crossing the macho boundery. And a price... that just tips the bucket for addopting it with a "where's the catch" thought reflexe. In my personnal opinion... Chrysler/Dodge is starting to seriously give the Japaneese and Germans a run for success.

Awesome, but I think I have a lemon
I love it. However, I have the flex fuel capable 2.7L V6. Over the 7 months I have owned, easily ran under 20 tanks of gasoline through it, remainder has been E-85. I have continued to fight with codes 302 & 306 (misfire cyl. 2 or 6) when using E-85. Check engine light comes on and shuts off as it pleases, making it difficult for me & dealership. Last two visits for problem resulted in nothing being found wrong in diagnostics. This morning my check engine light, and electronic throttle control light came on, ignored it as usual thinking it was the normal, drove to work, and split the radiator core. Am preparing to pursue the lemon law. I am the only owner that has a record of this problem at the dealership, but I felt it needed to let others know about my experience.

great car glad i bought it
i have the sxt 2.7 liter with 18 inch rims and all the other conveniences.love it.i have not owned a car this good since i had my 1985 cutlass supreme.that was brand new also.the interior plastics leave a little to be desired.but besides that the car handels and runs great and it looks mean and nasty.also stick to the 6 cylinder if you want a car of this size to move quickly and not hear a lot of noise.

Fun and safe
I got the R/T AWD Dodge Avenger after nearly purchasing a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. Living in Upstate NY, we wanted a practical vehicle that has power for hills, AWD for bad weather, and traction control, ABS, and air bags for safety. What changed my mind was the power of the Avenger compared to most other vehicles in its class, especially when coupled with AWD. For the price, this was definitely the most powerful engine I could get in AWD. I love the acceleration, and it handles big hills without the slightest hesitation. Braking is also good, and it hugs curves. This car can be a very fun car, but it is also safe. I'm looking forward to seeing it handle in the winter. The knocks on this car are all interior. The seats are somewhat hard and oddly shaped. I'm thin, and I fit well in the seat, so it's comfortable for me. I think a heavy person would be uncomfortable. The audio system in the R/T package is good, but if the upgraded package would be much better. Everything is placed intuitively in the cabin, which I like. Blind spots are not as bothersome as some reviews led me to believe, but check twice before changing lanes or backing up. The exterior styling is great. I haven't seen many others on the road, and I get a lot of looks and comments, which is fun. If you want a practical car that can also be fun and look good, this is a great choice.

Great car, great value.
I have recently, purchased a new 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT and found it strong, comfortable, and reliable. Its aggressive exterior style separates it from the majority in the mid-size section and delivers a sense of security. It offers many safety features as a standard like side & curtain air-bags. This car offers great interior space to fit five average sized adults comfortably and features the chill zone to fit four 12 fl oz. drinks above the glove compartment. Also, an optional temperature controlled cupholders for the center console, perfect for hot and cold days. Performance is reliable but could be better. I recommend getting the V6 engine option. Either way, this car offers great mpg in all four available styles for those who are interested. Overall, this car stands out on the road and it proves its value is worth the investment.

Finally, a mid-sized American gem!
I test drove nearly all mid-sized sedans before choosing the Avenger. Also liked the Altima. The avenger was a smoother ride with a distinct American feel. I got the SXT with the 2.4 lit. 4 cyl.. I won't be blowing anyone's doors off but the pick up is satisfactory. On a trip to an A&M game, I averaged 32.6 mpg. hwy. Man, that put a smile on my face. Smooth and quiet hwy ride! The adjustable lumbar support hits my back in just the right spot. 3.5 hrs in the saddle and not the least bit sore. LOVE IT! This car flat out looks great! I'm very pleased with this Dodge.

Ecstatic about my Avenger!
I love this car! I own the 2008 SXT 2.7 Liter V6. I've read some of the other comments about loud cabin noise but mine is airtight noiseless! I even commented about that the other night while on my cell in the car - the person on the other end didn't even realize that I was in the car. I love the exterior and the 18" wheels (sport package) with spoiler make it very easy on the eyes. The interior is fantastic as well. The few features that I don't like are the rear window area where that black thing is that does cause somewhat of a blind spot and mine doesn't have lights in the sun visor mirrors, but I'm thinking of purchasing them myself. Other than that, I am absolutely 100% thrilled to death about this car - it's what I've been wanting for a long time! :-)

Noisest car I have ever owned
I have a new avenger SXT with the world 2.4 L engine. The engine is extremetly loud changing gears, in the city, but once in 3rd it is quiet. On the highway the road noise in the cabin is terrible, there does not appear to be even an oz of noise insulation in the entire car. It is a same as it is otherwise a very nice car It has an excellent radio which on the highway can bearly be understood because of the road noise. It is a shame as I really like the car.

Dodge Avenger
It's a good size with a sporty look. R/T 3.5 V6 is the way to go. Have all the toys, Leather seats are nice too. Also, there is alot of hard plastic, but still nice. Stereo is very good, great sound.

Good car needs refinement.
The 2.4 4 cylinder is noisy when acclerating even with a light touch on the throttle. I really like the gauges. The car rode nice. It handled good. Overall I like it. It just needs to be refined. The engine had good power and was quiet once up to speed.
