Fantastic Choice !
I have a 2008 Avenger R/T - I have never had an AWD vehicle before and I just love it! I owned a 1997 Intrepid for 11 yrs so switching to the Avenger was quite a challange. It took a while to get used to the smaller windows and at first thought that it gave poor visibility, but you get used to it and you find out that you can actually see just fine! It handles like a dream in all types of weather - and it doesnt pull when you hit a large puddle or a patch of (deeper) snow.

Decent car at a great price
I've purchased five new cars in my life. To save $, I purchased this car used. It's very nice but I'd prefer it if it were new because there are a few things that were busted on it - not necessarily due to it being poorly built. I'm a big guy (6'5" 265 lbs) and I fit very well in it with the exception that my legs hurt when I rest them against the door & console. Otherwise, I think it's the best car I've ever owned (so far - I've only had it a couple months).

Best Value for the Money and a Homerun
2008 Dodge Avenger. I have over 61,000 miles and I bouhght this car brand new. No major problems, just normal maintance like oil changes. Tires are like new.The vehicle is the best kept secret on the planet. I have a 2.4 cyl that gets over 31 - 32mpg on the highway. I owned Cadillac's and other luxury cars in the past and since I was retired I needed to scale back. I bought this Dodge Avenger. What a pleasant surprise. What a value. I can't say enough about the comfortable ride. I have a home up North and down South. When I travel to my home down South I drive right through and it is an 18 hour drive and I am not even tired. The ride and comfort is even better than the Cadillac's, Rivera's and Toronado's I owned years ago. Highly recommend this bargin vehicle to anyone. I don't understand why Consumer Reports rates this vehicle down near the bottom. Consumer reports must be biased.

Waiting for disaster
Every magazine review said that this car was a clunker. But, being cheap, I bought it. it was literally thousands less then comparable cars. I have drove it for a year right now and so far, no real problems. It handles well enough. it is not super quiet, but not bad either. Performance is ok (I have standard 4 cylinder auto). A 5 or 6 spd transmission would be better, but those cars were $5,000 more. I get a solid 30 mpg on highway driving. So, after 15,000 miles, no real problem and, so far, a very good return on my investment. may it remain so. p.s. just why did the magazines hate it so much?

Really Love this Car!
Was originally looking for a '08 Charger, and came across the Avenger, which I call the "Mini-Charger". After seeing the car, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for, as it had the style and power I was looking for in the charger, but had better economical value with up to 20 mpg. Wanted the RT package with the 6 cyl 235 HP engine (Hard to find used, btw). That's what took me to Cars.com. Only found 11 for sale online with color and trim that I wanted. Drove to Kentucky to get my car, and was extremely happy with the drive back. Gas mileage is better than expected. Highly recommend the car.

Poor visibility
I understand that the smaller side windows are the new style but quite frankly after driving the Avenger for over one year now, I think it is a driving hazard. The interior comfort of the car is poor and the quality of the features stink. Prior to my warranty expiring, there were 4 major problems that had to be fixed. Thankfully it was under warranty but I am scared owning this car much longer.
