Dependable

This truck was in my brother's driveway just rusting away on two flat tires, amongst other issues. He said it was a good little truck, but it needed some work. I took it off of his hands, and got that baby repaired. She rides smooth, the seat is comfortable, and I am happy with my little get around town pick up. I also like the extra seating area in the cab for three small people. Her body is a little rusty, but we all get a few wrinkles with age. Overall, very dependable.

Very reliable! Love it! Comfortable too!

This was a very reliable truck! Still is! It can go forever! Given the age it's more of a worktruck or starter truck but will take you where you need to go.

Still going

Bought this truck in'03 with 110k miles. I'm proud to say, it now has 348k. Very dependable ride. Always starts, gets 15 mpg combined average mileage, and has enough power to pull my car trailer with way too much on it, lots of times. The downside of the Dakota's are the body rust. Door bottoms, wheel wells, and now the rocker panels are falling apart. Got my money's worth!! Looking for my next Dakota right now.

Dakota, tough truck yet comfot and dependable

ive always been a dodge men, still have my 70 hemi cuda and 68 rt charger but in 01 i bought a dakota pickup and put the cars away.i figured id also get a 1500 ram 4x4 for heavy work, well as luck would have it the dakota was in the right place at the right time and it stood the test,i had to pull my friends ford pu out of the lake when it slid down the ramp.i didnt think my lil pickup had the xxxxx but i dropped her in 4x4 and pulled that titan and boat from the water.after that i started using it at work instead of my ram.my ram is still my work horse but the dakota is there if needed for anything that comes up,i love it

A fun reliable truck!

Very comfortable, incredibly reliable. I have a 2001 in near new condition. I think it matches up pretty well with todays midsize trucks. Mine has done a very nice job. A lightly used version of this truck will likely last a long time.

Nice starter truck/old beater to have

First vehicle ever owned. Pretty good on gas for a truck from almost 2 decades ago (16-17mpg). 4x4 V8 sport had great power, handled beautifully off-road and in snow. Downside is that it did need trans and engine swap around 150k-170k. Never did much heavy lifting with it so everything else held up pretty well. Great for beginner truck, enough space for friends to pile in. Solid side vehicle/utility truck nowadays if you find one below $1200

Great for a high schoolers first truck

I gave been driving this truck for 9 months now, it is a superb vehicle! It has plenty of room in the back for passengers and cargo and other needs. Front is great with a middle seat and other places of cargo. I have driven this thing offroad/dirt road in snow and mud and it performs great. I plan to keep it well into adulthood
