Great Truck, Poor Front End
Got the 2500 4WD Diesel Crew Cab/Long Bed, 6 speed manual transmission. Can go anywhere and pull 14' gooseneck loaded with cattle on any kind of terrain. Had Ranchhand Bumper, towing package and B&W hitch installed. I LOVE MY TRUCK! 30 years of scrimp and save for it. Avg 21 mpg at 60 mph. I get better gas mileage if I have it loaded down or towing heavy loads. It does everything I bought it to do. BUT, at 60K miles, had to replace both front wheel bearing units. At 120K miles, had to do it again. At 130K, had to replace front "U" joints. These were not cheap repairs. The front end of these trucks is not designed to carry the heavy Cummins Diesel engine. Then, I add extra 350 lbs. with the Ranchhand bumper. Dodge needs to look a a new engineering design for the front end of a diesel work truck. Then I'd be in heaven.

Can be a real pain in the back-side
Overall the truck has been pretty good. There is a recurring issue with the driver's side seat track. It has failed on me 5 times in 36,000 miles. When the track fails it allows the seat to lunge forward and back around six inches upon braking or accelerating. Dodge does not wish to honor any warranties on the truck and has told me that it is basically my problem. They suggested that I buy a new truck from them, at full price, because apparently they now stand by their vehicles. I have spent a lot of money keeping my pristine condition truck in "safe" operating condition. Overall the truck is great except that Dodge will not stand by their product. I will never buy another vehicle from Dodge.

It's not for short people
I LOVE my dodge and it does the job that I purchased it for very well. I pull a 3 horse gooseneck trailer (12,000 lbs) and 3 horses (3400 lbs) and "Bertha" does the job without a groan or whine. The only compliant I have is that the truck does not take women, especially short ones into consideration. The way the mirrors attach to the side of the truck and the position of them makes a major blind spot! I know this sounds silly, but the mirrors are directly in my line of vision. I do not have this issue with Ford 150 as the seat makes you sit higher in the car. To solve this problem, I had to purchase a booster seat. But problem solved. Major whine, but wouldn't stop me from purcasing another one. My friends have stopped laughing at me now. By the way, I am 5'2.

Great Truck
2005 Dodge Truck, one of the best trucks for the money I ever owned.I have had no problems with it. Bought it used with only 20,000 miles on it. The 4.7 V8 is good on fuel and tows my camp trailer without any problems.

Worse truck ive ever had
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Cummins Diesel and at 2500 miles I had a tranny blow, ive had some kind of pressure censors go bad in the transmission about 4 times, ive replaced ALL U-Joints twice, Wheel bearings twice, tie rods and drag links... if you name it ive replaced it on this hunk of junk truck... it is currently at the dealership because the engine blew after the "Chrysler Certified Mechanic" drove my truck and told me the horrible whining noise that I heard was my drive shaft u joint that was just replaced and 30 miles later the next day my truck started smoking so bad that people behind me stopped. This truck is such a mess that I dont even have the heart to trade it off because someone else will buy it and get stuck with it...

amazingly fun
is a very fun ride and great if your looking for the number one powerful truck. True dodge can be unreliable but the ram is a best bet when looking for a truck.

dodge owner
I own the 2005, hemi 5.7, single cab. Have had my rotors resurfaced at 15,300 miles, egr valve replaced at 3 1/2 years, based on 7k miles a year. Not good when you buy it new and expect more out of a new truck. I do love the power it has for getting around, gas mileage is not too bad for a truck, just hope other things don't start going bad on it.
