Love My Dodge

this is my first dodge truck ever, was a ford guy till i bought this used 06 1500, 4.7 2 wheeled drive long bed, this past winter, the blizzered of feb.2011 snow blew under the hood, witch played with the anything and everything on the dash, light came on gauges quit working check eng light came on, witch freeked me out, no gauses, then this june 2011 had a super hard rain, i mean can't see a foot in front of ya, well after getting home i parked the truck under the carport, the next day going to work, i would not shift from 1st gear, again check eng light came on, made a apontment at dodge dealer, by the time i could get in there, it was fine the next day, something wrong with the wiring, being there no light on dodge can't do anything, this sucks i do Love this dodge, great on gas, 18 to 20 around town 28 to 30 on the hwy, never had put any E-85 gas yet, afraid the gas mileage would drop,

Safe and Dependable vehicle

I bought my Ram several years ago after I conducted my own research between Dodge, Chevy and Ford. I have worked for a Sheriff's Office for ten years now and I have responded to numerous accidents. I first fell in love with Dodge ram when I responded to a Ford vs Dodge head on accident. The combined speed was 130 miles per hour and of coarse the Ford received the most damage. The Ram's passenger compartment was untouched and the driver only sustained a burn from the air bag. The driver of the Ford sustained a broken leg, broken sholder and an injury to his head. I responded to a roll over where a Dodge Ram rolled several times and again the driver only received minor injuries. I have a friend who ownes a Chevy and was in a roll over accident where he had to be cut out of his truck because the cab was so collapsed his rescuers thought he was smashed and feared dead. My truck has 150,000 miles on it now and I have only had to replace minor things. The truck is very dependable and it is has never failed me. I have several friends who I have recommended this truck to.

'06 Ram 1500

Got this after my '05 Ford F-150 XLT was totaled in a head-on. The other guy, '06 Grand Cherokee, fell asleep, not good. But anyways looked hi & lo for a similar Ford, couldn't find one, so started looking at Dodges. Went on line @ Kelly Blue Book and this one just jumped off the screen. Higher mileage, 77,000 when I bought it, but in imaculate condition. It is a Florida vehicle, white Quad Cab, 2 wheel drive w/limited slip, trailer tow, Lo-back buckets. It has the Thunder Road pkg., 4.7 L., V-8, 3.92 rear, and to tell the truth a lot quicker than the 5.4 L., in my late F-150. Has quick confident handling, for a P/U, just liking the truck more and more every day. This from a long time Ford P/U guy. Anyone and everyone looking for a P/U should give the Ram P/U's a try.

Dodge Ram 1500

I like the truck, but it has had many expensive repairs needed shortly after the warranty ran out. Hope you never have to have a repair done behind the dash board because most mechanics won't touch it except for the dealership and it was 650 bucks in labor just to take off the dash to get to the $25 part that needed repairing...just horrible design by Dodge.

THIS CAR SAVED MY LIFE

i owned a Dodge Ram 1500 i was in a horrific accident in which i had multiple points of impact, a free fall from a 250 ft cliff, and several rolls. responders said it was one of the most horrific accidents they had seen in a long time, however thanks to this vehicle, i walked away with only some lacerations, bruises and a concussion. i will never drive anything else but a dodge.

Best Bang for the buck

Between me and and my wife we have owned 4 Dodge Ram trucks and I can say without a doubt best buy for the money. I curretnly have an 06 Dodge Laramie which I bought used and for the money I couldnt touch a Chevy or Ford with the amount of options my truck came with. If your looking for a nice truck with all the toy go with a Dodge.

dodge 2500 cummins

I have owned a 2005 and 2006 dodge 2500. In my experience in both trucks I have run into the same problems. My 2005 was a 6 speed loved the transmission, but it had problems throwing U-joints, and the ball joints went out @ about 40,000 miles. On the 2006, its a automatic, this truck seems to have much less get up and go than the '05, transmission doesn't shift smooth and I would say slips a little. This truck has thrown a U-joint per year and also had wheel bearings shot (this became a $2000 fix). Both trucks have also had there share of electrical problems. Fuel economy is great however. As far as wet or snow traction, forget it unless you have aggresive tires and about 800# in the back, using highway tires you have to drive in 4 wheel drive on a regular basis. I have never owned or even thought of owning a foreign vehicle but if they come out with a 3/4 diesel comparable in power and ruggedness I'm trading my dodge in.
