LOOKS AND PERFORMANCE!
THIS IS A GREAT SUV. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS STYLISH AND FUNCTIONAL. IT DRIVES SMOOTH AND QUIET WITH A ROOMY INTERIOR. I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY ISSUES WITH BRAKING AND I LIVE IN A COLD WEATHER STATE.

Vapor Silver
Handles great with AWD and is very stylish. Interior could be a little more detailed, but overall a good price for what you get.great car!

A strong performer
The ride is quiet, comfortable and stable. We are especially impressed with the turning radius of the Edge. The kids like that the rear seats recline and the MP3 player port in the console. The AWD makes the Edge handle very well in the snow

Great Car, But . . .
The Edge looks great and handles well. I especially like the sun roof. My wife loves the car, especially the Sync. Just a few negatives: 1) The brakes make a grinding noise when they are cold. We have taken this up with the dealer and they say all of the Edges have this problem. They say Ford hasn't been able to figure out how to fix it (imagine that, 10,000 engineers and they can't fix it!). 2) I'm almost 6'2" and it's a little tight for a big guy like me--even with the seat lowered all the way and back. 3) And a couple of minor things--there is no thermometer for outside temperature, and there is no remote garage door opener. Small items, but you never think of looking for these things in the showroom.

Absolutely recommend - One of the Best
Purchased new spring 2008 to replace aged Trooper. Have really enjoyed the Edge, esp it's handling on windy days and decent gas mileage. I get 21-22 weekly and 23-24+ on road trips. SYNC is great value and I am really sold on it - for phone handsfree and the fantastic mp3 convenience. I transferred my music files to flash drive and leave my iPod at home most days. One of best features for me is the POWER LIFTGATE. Would like to never be without that again. Haven't had trouble with blind spot - I am fairly tall; maybe it depends on your height. And I like the convenience of keyless entry. Front seats are super for both myself (with back issues) and 6' 2" spouse. You don't feel like you are about to slide off these seats. I wish back seat was power adjustable but minor issue. Also Edge is rare in that the back seats are actually very comfortable for adults and easy to adjust. Nice ride and very comfortable and safe. Would definitely buy it again so hope it hangs around awhile. Very comfortable and great value - esp compared to much more expensive crossovers some friends have. They wish they had the Edge's features!

very good value
handling and braking with this vehicle in wet weather is a breeze. You really feel safe at all times. Power and response is great, just a fun, safe vehicle to drive. Best new vehicle we have owned in over 15 last vehicle purchases. Vehicle is a really good value for the price range.

Best car I've ever owned
This car is perfect. I have waited a long time for a car to perform this well, for the cost. What a smooth ride. Best buy for the money.

guzzler
The title says it all. I get 14mpg which is scandalous. Also, the windshield is too angled and there's so much glare that I can hardly see anything on a sunny day when you hit the shadowy part of the road. The car is a big disappointment.

exceded expectations
Really taken with the body style. Upon test drive we found the vehicle to be a pleasure to drive. While appearing small on the outside we found plenty of space in the interior. We purchased the SEL and while satisfied we would prefer to have a few more aminities for the price we paid. The vehicle is very practical and we have enjoyed it immensley. Rides and drives great and turns heads everywhere we go.

Love the Edge!
I went from a 2000 GMC Yukon 4x4 to a 2008 Ford Edge SEL with FWD and don't regret it at all. Love this little suv! It's not as peppy as my V8 was, but no slouch either, and the better gas mileage is way worth it. We're getting in the 24-25 mpg range with mixed driving, high 20s on longer drives (I live in the boonies, so I'm sure my results are different from what you would see if you lived in town). The ride is so nice and smooth and quiet, even on horrible roads. It handles super, no sway in the corners. I am having so much fun driving it! The seats are very comfortable--I cheaped out and got cloth, so I imagine the leather is even better. I can drive several hours without being stiff and achey when I arrive, even though I am 6 months pregnant. My only complaint is the forward tilt of the headrest, but I was able to make that a little better by raising it higher. I really like that it has rear vents in the back of the console for the rear passengers, as not all the cars we looked at had that feature. Living in the South, getting enough air is a Big Deal. There seems to be more room in the backseat area than there was in my Yukon, and I like that the rear seats recline. The interior gives a feeling of "nice", although not posh. There is plenty of cargo space for my needs, lots more than you would think, looking at it from the outside. The steering wheel controls are easy to use. I really like the SYNC, although I'm still learning how to use it. I keep having trouble getting it to hear my voice commands while going down the road--I have to yell really loud, which greatly amuses my 3 year old son and frustrates me--but once I get connected to the person I'm calling, we can hear each other fine on both ends, talking in a normal tone. The radio screen is not my favorite in the world, the layout is kind of jumbled and the info is much more limited than what I'm used to. I wish that I had an outside temperature readout, I really miss that. I think the Edge is a great value for the money. I got a great riding, great driving vehicle with comfortable seats, some neat features, and room for my big dog and anything else I would want to haul, for well under $30,000. I am very very pleased. The fact that it is a domestic vehicle is icing on the cake. I give the Edge 2 enthusiastic Thumbs Up! Great job, Ford!!
