Will buy another Escape myself.
Car gives excellent performance and darn good gas mileage for a rather large V6. I have taken 6 Florida to New Jersey trips in it and was it very comfortable. It also tows a small boat easily. Great car and i will buy another one.

Great Looking Small SUV
This is a great looking small SUV. It handles just like a car and has a very smooth ride. Cargo space is sufficient and the interior design is laid out nicely. I guess the only complaint I have about the Escape is that on the XLS model, the seat fabric is horrible. Even a drop of water leaves a stain on the fabric.

Not all it seems to be....
Where to begin? The electric motor only runs while driving under 25 MPH and not at all if there is any extra weight on it. You cannot run the air conditioner and still expect to be able to run it on the electric motor -- it's just too much for the electrical system (today the temp here is 113). At least where I live, Ford Blue Oval certified mechanics for the Hybrid are VERY hard to find and it may have to be towed a long way in the event of a breakdown. Eventually (they tell me 8 years) the battery packs will need to be replaced at a cost of over $1000. EACH and there are EIGHT of them. The emissions on the Escape Hybrid are about the same as the Ford Focus -- a MUCH better buy. Advantage over the regular gas-powered Ford Escape: NONE, other than a modest increase in fuel economy. Disadvantage: $$$.

Very happy with Escape. Very comfortable on a long trip (8 hours on the road straight). Only wish it had 4 low for off road if needed.

Awesome little SUV - Interior and exterior design are great. Everything is easy to use and accessible. Surprising room for a small SUV (ample headroom, legroom and storage in back - fold flat rear seats a plus). Great gas mileage for a 4WD the stats (avg 20-24) on a split of city/hwy driving. Lots of pep under the hood as well (more than I expected). For the price it was a steal over other SUVs I looked at (bought a 2006 Demo). Not much I can say bad about this little SUV. Very happy with my purchase.
