2019 Escape S

Ford's base model Escape is my favorite of all the Escapes me & my family have owned. It currently only has less than 200 miles on it, yet it gets 20mpg. The base 2.5L four seems more powerful than my 2017's 1.5L turbo 4. That engine just turned 20,000 miles when I turned it back in on my 2019, yet it only got 20.4 mpg. I guess it is okay for a 3,600 lb. "4x4" (AWD) SE, yet I expected 22-23mpg. The base S 2.5L engine just seems like it has more torque. I know the S gets a steeper axle ratio....maybe that's it. Low end power from the 2.5L engine seems better than the 1.5L turbo engine. Two things I would tell Ford to give the Escape S model : available as a 4x4 version, and offer the 2.0L turbo engine in it. The 245hp/275 lb.ft engine (for 2019) can only be had in Titanium trim. Yet, Through Ford Fleet you can get a 2.0L engine in the base Escape S....you need a Fleet FIN code, however. Since 2011, we've had 6 Escapes. We like them well enough. Interiors always have been comfortable, and controls easy to reach and understand. One thing I HATED about my 2017.....those dang paddle shifters placed on the steering wheel near other controls! I think Ford placed them (it) back on the automatic shifter lever in 2018. I know they did for 2019. I'd recommend the Escape be put on your SUV shopping list. I would test drive all three : S with 2.5L, SE/SEL with 1.5L turbo, and the Titanium with the 2.0L turbo. One more thing, if you don't like having the push button start....forget the SE/SEL/Titanium models. Also, if you get one of these (1.5L & 2.0L), they will have Start-Stop feature. I always would override it with the button on the dash(turn it off). If I forgot, the engine would shut off at a stoplight, stop sign, or whenever you came to a complete stop. They said you won't be able to tell. Too many times when I forgot to turn it off, it felt like the vehicle stalled! Yeah, and so much for the "saving fuel" theory: 20.4mpg . Not bad, yet not great, either. Escape S = simple ( key, no start-stop technology), but enough stuff standard, and a good base 2.5L engine. I'm happy with it so far.

I really like my 2019 Ford Escape. I like the Apple Play and all of the newer technology in the car. It rides and handles great.

Nice SUV!

This is my fourth Ford Escape since 2011. They all performed quite well except one which had a faulty transmission - was a nightmare actually! Ford did not respond to my direct letters either as I had the expense of a rental car when this car was undriveable!! I just got the 2019 Escape Titanium model. My two major complaints are: 1. No option for a CD player 2. The worst designed glove box I have ever seen! What were they thinking ?

Nice color

It's a new car, so of course it has to be reliable and performance has to be good. Drives well; not crazy about the style.

Perfect size

Great car for our second vehicle. Comfortable and quiet. Easy to maneuver and park. The Sync 3 system is awsome and east to use. Very happy with it so far.
