Small but versatile vehicle

The SUV is compact, and the ride is comfortable The fuel economy is exactly what we were looking for to carry our bikes for more scenic rides.

Not what I thought I wanted

I was looking for a new van but really liked the looks, safety features, and convenient features of this Escape. I bought it and am enjoying it more each day.

Winter is Coming....

When my wife wanted to replace here cute-ute this year, she had her heart set on the Escape right out of the gates. She just loved the way it looked. Regardless, I asked her to make the rounds with me to test drive the usual suspects. We drove a VW Tiguan, A Honda CRV and a Subaru Forester. Among that group, the Escape handled as well as the VW, was way more powerful than the Subaru (kind of anemic in our estimation) and was considerably cheaper with more options than the Honda. We bought the Escape Titanium with the 2.0l Ecotec turbo. On a side-note, if you can swing the additional cost, we would highly recommend the Titanium package with the upgraded engine - it is a significant improvement over the base 1.5l in the SE and SEL. Driving Dynamics: The Escape feels very planted and turns precisely. the brakes are right there and very strong. The transmission seems nicely tuned for accelerating and passing. Here again the strong motor put it way ahead of the competition we drove. Many of them were quite sluggish off the line. AWD is a must in the North and it has been very sure-footed this year. The interior and options: The heated seats and steering wheel were my wife's favorites. Anything to ease the long winter around here is good. But the Sync3 system is also a vast improvement over the Sync systems we have owned in the past. It is intuitive with a big touchscreen and very easy to use. The leather seats are comfortable and easy to adjust. Options: For our budget, we were able to afford a lot of options on the Titanium (well - it actually comes with a pile of neat features). The hands-free rear power liftgate is way more useful than I would have thought it was. The memory sets are nice for a house with multiple drivers. The automated safety features (like auto-bright headlights, the auto wipers, auto dimming mirrors, the cruse control that speeds up and slows down for traffic) are something I never really gave much thought, but I really like them now that we have them. Gripes and Grouches: 1. The jury is still out on the start/stop system. I know it is supposed to save gas - but I am not sure it actually does. It i a little disconcerting when you are waiting at the light and the car goes silent and the fan goes down to the lowest setting. The good thing is that it is easy to disable if we decide that it is not something we want. 2. The area behind the seats is a little smallish. I know the VW and the Honda were a lot bigger. However, the cabin feels very big- so maybe it was a trade-off. Not much else - for perspective, we generally get a new car about every 5 years and have owned a previous generation Escape which my wife liked very much. We traded in a Hyundai Tuscon - but did not like the newest version of that car to short-list it.

Best car I've ever owned.

This car or suv met all my expectations. It rides smooth and great handling, real roomy leg room. Lots of room for passengers, and luggage for trips, good gas mileage.

Completely satisfied

This vehicle meets and exceeds all expectations. Very satisfied with the 2019 Ford Escape SEL. I only but Ford Motor Co. products. This is the third Escape I have purchased.

My second new Escape

This car is perfect for me and my lifestyle. I used to drive Explorers but my needs have changed and the Escape has fit the bill. My sister in law just bought a new Escape after riding in my first new one last year. These are very impressive vehicles and a reasonable price and they hold their own in trade value.
