2008 Ford F-150 consumer reviews

I have a number of friends that own a number of makes of trucks, and to no surprise to me, a good majority of them are slowly being convinced that the Ford F-150 is the way to go. Granted, you can't compare a gas motor to a diesel motor when it comes to power, but the few times a year that I pull anything larger than a couple four-wheelers, the power of the 5.4 liter is more than adequate and a heck of a lot cheaper to maintain. I bought this truck new in July '08 and have not regretted it at all. In fact, my son keeps asking when I'm going to get a new one so he can buy it from me. That's not going to happen, but I would be proud to take him out shopping to find his own treasure in a new-to-him F150.

Has plenty of power and looks very good with all the goodies included. But is a gas guzzler, Best I have been able to acheve is 17mpg. Hwy and 14-15 in city. With gas prices going up I may be looking again soon. I know I won't be dealing with a dealer Unless I go new. Too much hassle and up to the end trying to sell me everything I didn't want. And not truthful to their word.

Cars.com helped me sort through all the dealerships out there and narrow it down to the truck I wanted. The links to see the carfaxs and set up a test drive made it a one stop shopping experience. I test drove several trucks until I found the one I wanted and then ultimately purchased it.

We bought our truck as a tow car behind our 43ft motorhome. We also use it to haul our Polaris RZR in the bed... it has not disappointed us :)

I purchased a used 2008 FX4 Off Road F-150 earlier this year (2010) and I absolutely love this truck! This is my second F-150 and I sold my last one at 305,000 miles (2000 model) to my friend for landscaping...and it's still going! I am somewhat biased, as my entire family of farmers and construction workers are loyal Ford Truck owners, but there is a reason to that. Behind the incredible performance and reliability is, in my opinion, the best looking truck on the road (even better than the 2009-2010 F-150 models), not to mention the first-class interior you just won't match in other pick-ups. My favorite features on my F-150 include: - Short-bed (5.5ft)/SuperCab combination for speed and appearance; - Back-up cam in review mirror; - Ford Audiofile premium sound system, including a perfectly designed custom bass tube under rear seat; - MP3 audio input; - Beautiful interior styling; - Heated leather captains chairs (so comfortable); - Ford factory "black out" headlights; and - Ford Certified Pre-Owned 100,000 mile warranty. If you are looking for a new truck, look no further.

I purchased the 2008,60 Year Anniversary model F150, this summer, used with 33,000 miles on it. It runs strong, is very comfortable and a pleasure to drive. The two tone paint and overall "special edition" touches are sharp looking and cleans up nicely.

I was going to buy a Chev 1500 but couldn't qualify. Went across the street to ford and bought a 2008 F150 crewcab and love it!! The only problem I have had is a fouled injector. This was covered under my warrent (not extended) for 0 cost to me. My next truck will be a ford also. Drive one, you will love it!

Purchased a stripped-down 2008 F-150 XL Supercrew (no cruise, no remote for the power locks, etc) with only 14k mi in June, 2009, for a bit under Bluebook value. Very reliable, very comfortable, and drove like a car, so that even my very petite Asian wife was comfortable taking the reins. However, the truck was sturdy enough to handle my occasional hauling (mowers, tree sections, decorative stones, sheetrock, cement backerboard, etc) with no discernable differences. Very basic styling, inside and out (hence the 3/5 for exterior design)... but this was my work truck. It had 100 scratches in the paint before the Spring was over, and was caked with mud on the inside almost weekly. Interior had only a few of the usual conveniences (power port in the back, MP3 port, cup holders, etc), but was more than adequately comfortable for the few times I had to pick up regional managers, etc., from the airport. Wife enjoyed the front bench seat for sleeping on my shoulder during long drives. Very roomy in back (Supercrew cab), but still long enough bed for my full-size motorcycles (1100 cc and 1500 cc). Gas mileage was around 19 mpg at most fill-ups. (I drive mostly highway miles.) I put 50,000 miles on the vehicle in 12 months, and never had any mechanical issues. It was my first truck, and F-150s may likely be all I own for the foreseeable future (although, since I was stuck in the mud twice out on a few farms, I'll probably go for 4WD instead of RWD). As it happened, in June 2010, I was struck head-on on a rural highway by a young driver (texting?). With approximately 130-mph closing speed, I actually walked (well, staggered) out of the truck, and left the hospital the next day with only a broken wrist and ribs, and assorted hip and shoulder bruises from the seat belts. I am a living testament to the F-150 safety features, air bags (zero head, neck, or spine injuries at all), impact distribution, and whatever else the Ford safety engineers have dreamt up over the years.
