Owned since 2012
Bought it with about 20k miles. Now have 167k. No serious issues other than hitting a couple deer with it. Interior started falling apart around 150k miles. Driver's side door handle broke($20 fix), alot of wear and tear on driver's side leather seat. But I've had zero problems with the engine. Just some battery problems, the connections started rusting and falling apart. I had to put in new connections on the battery.

Phenomenal Value and Style
I purchased this car for $5,000 with a four-cylinder and 5-speed manual. I am in love! Ford made so many focuses that part availability and repair costs are both kept to a minimum. The interior styling is surprisingly nice, especially compared to other compact/economy cars on the market. I gave the reliability rating 4 stars only because it did have an issue with engine cooling (fan motors blew out) that is apparently not an isolated issue. This is something to consider, but that being said, I repaired the fan motor assembly myself with only intermediate mechanical knowledge in about 2 hours total. For the money, the car is stylish, reliable, and SUPER good on gas (40+ on the highway if you go 67ish!!). I would buy this car again in a second, as long as you don't mind the trade-off in space. This is not a vehicle that you want to spend a long time in with 4 people, but for 1-2 people on long trips, it is a perfect traveling companion!

nice car
i have bought my focus in 2014 it had 26000 miles now i have 95000 what i can say engine wise no problems at all just regular maintenance runs strong and if you step on it it has pick up other then some suspension problems i love the car unfortunately suspension is weak on this cars if you planning to do a lot of driving make sure to check suspension every oil change i already replaced ball joints, links twise, axle, rear shocks, motor and trans mounts go bad at around 100000 parts is very cheap though

Reliable Car for Me
I have a SES model, and it has been very good so far reaching 145K miles. I find it pretty reliable with routine maintenance needs for a high-mileage vehicle. I do some of my own work. The engine looks great with 7500 mile oil changes even with conventional oil. Some maintenance items outside of the maintenance manual after the 100K mile mark are replacing transmission/engine mounts and possibly the valve cover gasket. I thought the spark plug replacement at 105K miles was a little too early because the plugs looked great but replaced them anyway since I already bought new ones. I find replacement parts affordable and available. The interior is nice, and everything is handling well. Some of the weather stripping is starting to fall, but it is still functional in keeping rain out so I haven’t replaced it. Sync kind of sucks because it can’t hear voice commands with all the noises, but I use all the other features like the radio, Bluetooth, USB port just fine.
