Most unreliable car ever

I purchased a Ford Focus 2013 Hatchback because I am a single parent and drive about 150 miles a day to and from work everyday and the SUV I had was kiling me in gas. I first noticed the hesitation on take off when I test drove it but was assured that this was normal with the new technology the computer had to adjust to my driving style and it would go away quickly. It did not go away and after driving it for a while I took it is to the shop they said the computer just needed to be reset. They told me yet again it would take a few days for the car to readjust to my driving. Then my check engine light came on and they changed the O2 Sensor. Shortly after the shaking got worse and it started making a weird roaring noise when I aceelerated past 20 I took it back in. This time they made me drive with the manager because theywanted to know exactly what I was hearing. It took a whole two seconds for him to hear it and the replaced my Rear carrier barring and right front Wheel bearing. Picked it up made it two miles and heard a noise under the front end when turning sharply to the left. SO I took the vehicle back to the shop. They had my vehicle for a full week and called to tell me they could not duplicate the noise. I explained to my service advisor all he had to do was go to an empty parking lot turn the wheel all the way and try to move. He did this himself and heard the noise the mechanic could not find. What happened is the mechanic who put the bearing in uses a coat hanger to hold something in place while changing it, he neglected to remove the hanger. One week later called back to dealer for hesitation and shaking on take off I was informed I had to go on a test drive with the mechanic to duplicate the complaint. Mind you every time I am taking off work to do this stuff because they do not work around your hours you work around theirs. I drove him around and he could feel what I was talking and told me that they have a protocol that they follow when we bring the vehicles in for this. There are so many issues they do one thing at a time and hope it works. This time they replaced both clutches in the car. Which brings us to right now. I took my car into the shop for the roaring noise that I had previously took it in for and after 8 days they told me they replaced my right half axle and carrier bearing and it was fixed. I picked it up 2 days ago. Drove a short distance and realized the noise was still there. I also noticed as I went over the speed bumps into my complex that there is something rubbing under the car as I go over the speed bumps. I returned to the dealer within 30 minutes of leaving. I was informed I needed to drive the car and bring it back in when I can come drive with yet another manager. I refused and told them it is not rocket science and anyone who has ears can hear this on their own. So they gave me yet another rental.( that my extended warranty is paying for). They said the Manager would take it himself the following day and let me know what they can find. Two days later I get a call they have fixed the problem yet again and it was noise in both Front wheel bearing and they replaced both. I picked up my car last night and will be taking it back to the shop today to drive with the manager again because the rubbing noise that did not exist till they started working on the vehicle is still there. Every time I go home and go over the speed bumps it is there and it is not normal. This is the worst experience I could have ever imagined having with a new vehicle and I am stuck with this lemon.

Awful transmission.. even worse service

I have 2013 Focus hatcback with the 6 speed ?auto?. Quite simply the transmission is a awful! I?m an engineer by education (Bachelors & Master?s) and by trade and there is not another car that I?m aware of that has ever operated by design to shudder, lurch, hesitate and clank like this transmission does. Its on its 3rd trip to the dealer service to see what they?ll do, but I?m skeptical they are wiling or able to fix it. When the regional CSM tells me that shuddering after gear shifts, the occasional clanking metal sound and the hesitation are normal? uh.. Houston we have a problem.. a big big big problem! I?ve been driving for 36 years and this is the worst car to drive I have ever had. I test drove it.. and it seemed fine. It actually drove ok for the first 5,000 miles.. but ever since the shudders, hesitation are much worse and the clanking has started. The TSB application did nothing on trip 1.. trip 2 they drove it exactly 1 mile and pronounced it fine.. and now trip 3 is with another service center. We?ll see.. but its just unfathomable that FORD, where Quality is supposed job #1, would keep putting these transmissions in these cars. You can't simply tell customers "its working as designed" to make us ignore the horrendous deteriorating aspects of these transmissions. Its unpredictable hesitations accelerating make it unsafe, its frequent shuddering is discomfortingly painful, and the clanking is just unacceptable. I have never regretted buying any of the 20 or so cars I've bought over the years.. until now. Will not be buying another FORD.. ever.

transmission problems

apparently ford needs 17000 clutches for the 2012/13 focus. the clutch factory cannot keep up with the need! i owned both a 12 and a 13 both had significant clutch problems around the 15000km mark. i am amazed that ford has managed to keep this out of the media. there are many unhappy focus and fiesta owners out there with cars that run with a clutch that came from a worn out vw bug of the 1960s!!! purchase at your own risk!

Worst Purchase I've Made In A LONG Time

We bought this car brand new, and custom made for us...we paid before we even saw the car - bad idea, I would never do that again! We have the SEL version, but have upgraded everything you can except sun roof and leather seats (I hate leather seats). We were going to get the titanium version but you cannot get it without leather. From day one we said there's a problem with the transmission, they kept trying to patch it with software updates - it clearly was more than this, but service never were willing to admit it. Their 'Ford Touch' is a complete joke, we paid almost $1000 for that 'upgrade' (it's actually caused more problems than not getting it). The heater motor is going...and just today the one-touch for the power windows stopped working. We've been bringing it back in to Ford Service once a month (Or More) since we purchased back in August 2012, and that officially means we've had this car in the shop more than our 2001 Nissan Sentra... Now with more than 50,000KM's and more than a year has passed they FINALLY put in a new transmission - let's just hope this one works. This has been a total gong show, and the sad part is I wanted to buy a King Ranch but my wife will not allow me to buy another ford now. So, Here's TWO BIG THUMBS DOWN to the 2013 Ford Focus!

Poor transmission and electronics Titanium LOADED

!st-When we got the car in August 2012 the day after I had to take it on a long trip. As I entered the car noticed something shiny on the (leather) driver seat and when to wipe it away. I was glass and cut me. I then noticed tiny glass sheds ALL over the car! On the dash, in the CD player, in the seat seams......everywhere! Called the dealer and had no idea what I was talking about! Wound up cutting the leather on the seat. They apologized and replace the seat cover and made note incase anything else went wrong due to the glass. 2nd-On another long trip we were using the navigation system (part of the Sync) and the whole Windows based computer SHUT DOWN! NOTHING...no navigation, no stereo, no phone, no climate control!!!! After messing with it for like an hour (added to our already 12 hour trip) it decided to work again. This reoccured several times in the first 4 weeks of owning it. 3rd- We had to have the dealer install the FORD remote starter system....a week later and a Tech from Detroit coming to MA to install it...it was done, but now we had TWO key fobs instead of the ONE we wanted.....it was the whole purpose of getting the FORD remote start! 4th-Was the take off LAG!!!! I had just missed getting into an accident SEVERAL times due to stepping on the gas from an intersection going into traffic and the car would just barley roll. After about 5 ft of that I would have to slam on the brakes and back out of the situation because I wasn't sure the car was even going to go at all! Brought it back to the dealer AGAIN and they said it needed to LEARN???? They also reprogramed the computer so it would accelerate sooner....kind of? 5th-And probably not the last for the car was the TRANSMISSION!!!! After complaining about the jerkiness the dealer once again told us it needed to LEARN and that it was a "DRY CLUTCH AUTOMATIC"?????....Okaaaay? So after about 5k miles of this, it then started slipping and making chumping noises like a low tone grind but loud! Took it back to the dealer SEVERAL times for this and basically told us we were nuts! They had a tech on the phone to Detroit several times and we would get it back several times with no change! We are now beyond the MA lemon law guide lines and...well, we traded it in with a HUGE!!!!! LOSS!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!! Ford Focus Titanium with Sync!!!!!!
