2014 Focus Se Manual

I purchased the car new a couple of years back. I have never had an issue with the car. The automatic transmissions seem to have some issues however mine is a manual and it is great. I average 35 miles per gallon and the sync software is nice, if you can just figure it out (if that makes sense). Great car, if your looking at a manual transmission!

No more Fords for me

Well, I bought to new Ford Focus Sedans and both have the transmission issues for and some "warranty extension service." One of them it will be the second time taking it in. It had issues at about 10K miles and now at 20K miles it is starting again. The other car is sluggish as described and taking it in for the first time with only about 25K miles. Of course you have to leave the car at the dealer all day with no loaner. I have always been a "Ford guy" as my first 2 cars were Mustangs, but these are probably the last Fords I will ever own.

Good looking car

I have a 2014 Ford Focus SE and I love this car... I was going to buy a Fusion but I saw the looks and fuel economy of the Focus, so after test driving both I went with the Focus. It handles and looks European, which I appreciate. The dual clutch transmission works well, ppl complaining about the shudder when you baby it pulling out don't understand it's an automated manual transmission... It has no torque converter it has clutches. A DCT will shift differently than a 5 speed automatic because they're not the same thing. The transmission works as designed, and saves you money when you fill up the tank. Great Car with a surprising amount of power!

Terrible

Brought my car 2014. This brand new car was jerking and making gringing noises as i was leaving the lot. Itook the car back and something was wrong. Iwas told it was the new clunching system and not to worry. For 4 to 6 month th same story even when i took it to the service dept. My male friend told me to take it back but i still thought croweles ford was telling right. Didnt listen to my friend. Now the cost is 1600 dollars. Ford wont do anything even rhought they sent me to recall letters concerning the clutch. Dealership make like i never called or visited them about the problem. Do not recommend this year car. The 2016 drove fine i guess they worked the problem out

Clutch and Brake peddles

2014 Ford Focus S, 2.0 engine, manual transmission. The clutch and brake peddle foot pad surfaces are too small. Both foot pads should be wider maybe 4 inches each.. Plenty of room to do so. Both peddles feel like point contact on shoe sole with foot tending to roll off clutch peddle waiting at stop lights. A bigger surface would be MUCH better. Tending to weld metal pad 4w x 2h inches and rubber slip over cover as in standard passenger cars. Otherwise, runs and everything operates as advertised. This is a sound buy especially priced at weekend sales special under $15K out the door.

Terrible car

I've had this Ford for 3 years and it's one problem after another. This car has been in the shop 5 times for the same problem transmission. Will never go with ford again.

My Focus Experience is Good

I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE with the sports package with 90K miles. I have never had a problem and only take it to the shop for normal maintenance. I did buy the car with a manual transmission because I was a little spooked by the stories I was hearing about the automatic transmission. I don't have the high end MyFord system either. It rides nice, handles well and I average about 30 mpg overall in L.A. traffic. I would buy another one again.

Hope it is fixed.

Yesterday we picked up our 2014 Focus from the Dealer. It was in for a full replacement of the DCT clutch. It took 12 weeks to get it. It went at 10,000 miles. Unreal but true. The drive Home was great.. Drove like a new vehicle. Hope it is fixed & will stay that way. D&O NH
