2012 Ford Fusion consumer reviews

I bought my black Fusion SE back in September and already have over 7K miles on it. I drive it quite a bit. The best gas mileage I have gotten is 30.5 which is great compared to any other car I have bought. This car looks awesome when its clean, it also has a great ride and feels very well built. Ford did a great job with this car. The inside is very roomy and trunk is huge for the size of the car. If you want a good sized American car at a good price then this car is for you.

I love the looks and ride and price. The only negative is impossible to get heat/air set well. It will get hot or cold quickly but no neutral setting.

I originally planned to purchase a 2012 Ford Focus because I need a car that gets good gas mileage. I was skeptical of the quirky PowerShift automatic transmission and didn't like the radical "tuner" design of the 2012 Focus, so I test-drove the Fusion instead. I really needed another station wagon to replace my 2001 Mercury Sable, but alas, Ford no longer makes a practical, economical wagon. (I asked about importing a European spec Focus wagon, and the dealer laughed). The Escape has dismal gas mileage and a poor safety rating, so I bought the Fusion. I am very pleased with my choice. My only complaint is that a car with a trunk doesn't hold nearly as much as the "greenhouse" area of a wagon. However, I am enjoying a very comfortable, quiet ride and unexpectedly good gas mileage that matches our 2001 Ford Focus. The Fusion feels substantial and is easy to drive, although I won't be able to load it up at Home Depot like I did with the Sable wagon. Someday, station wagons just might return.

I bought my Ford Fusion 2 months ago, so I am a relatively new owner. Here is what I have found so far: This car is very roomy inside and has a very comfortable ride and smooth engine. The exterior design looks good but the interior looks dated. When you come off a red light the 4cyl engine struggles during the initial takeoff but eventually catches up and gets going. The Microsoft Sync voice activated feature is disappointing. My SE model came without daytime running lights nor external temp indicator. However compass, auto headlights and auto rearview mirror were included. Pros: Roomy, Confortable, not bad gas mileage. Quiet ride. Lots of electronic features. Cons: Interior design needs upgrade. Voice activation is poor. Engine is slow on the starts. Price is not much better than Sonata or Camry. No Daytime running lights.

Absolutely loved the exterior style of the vehicle, bought the SE and am very pleased. Great gas mileage, have averaged close to 40 on the highway at times and rarely below 35. Very comfortable driver and passenger seats. Plenty of back seat capacity and trunk space. Only cons that i have so far with it is the excess amount of buttons for the temperature settings. Could have replaced them all with 2 or 3 dials and had less buttons on the middle display. Also the oil drain plug and oil filter are covered with a plastic plate that has 3-4 screws that need to be taken off before you can get to them. Engine has plenty of power for typical driving. I was originally looking at a chevy cruze and a mazda 3 but the cruze didn't seem to have much power and was overall a smaller car. The mazda 3 had a lot of basic features and i thought was overpriced for what it offered.

Just purchased a 2012 black Fusion SEL with the ginger interior and love it. Been told interior color looks like BMW. Great ride and plenty of room. Getting about 25mpg city. Awesome!!

I traded in my Acura TSX for this 2012 Ford Fusion SEL AWD and could not be happier with it. It deserves very high ratings all around except for the area of Performance due to relatively low MPG, but I knew that when I bought it and frankly, don't care about it. The Hybrid version is for others who may want to save on fuel. Drive a Fusion and you will be sold.

Purchased our second Ford Fusion SEL V-6 this summer. We have 2012 and 2010. Both cars have been very reliable, provide great mileage, about 27mpg. We love the quiet ride, comfort, sunroof, Sync, sound system, auto-climate contol, and leather interior. People can't believe it's a Ford and not a far more expensive brand. Ford hit a home run, without a doubt.
