My first Ford

This truck looks good but has problems. I have a 4x2 Ranger Edge with the 3.0 engine. Radiator hoses leaked after only 1,607 miles. Needed minor paint repair at 8,898 miles. Transmission leaked at 21,820 miles and required major repair. Wheel Bearings became loose at 25,374 miles and had to be tightened. Dealer said bearings were good and would not replace them even though I have an extended warranty. Gas milage is poor and this truck does not go well in snow. I do not haul or tow anything with my truck and I only average 8,400 miles per year.

A new Ranger

Seriously look into the extended warranty. Ranger are good truck if put together right. Make sure you purchase from a great dealer. My ranger was purchased new from the dealer and I have had 3 major drive components replaced and have to had the front bearings replaced 3 times, while under warranty. Less than 15,000 miles later and out of warranty I need to replace the bearings yet again. Not all Rangers are made the same.

Ranger beats S10 hands down!

This is my 2nd Ranger my first was a 97' reg cab, never had a problem with it, and was cheap to maintain just normal wear and tear items, I traded it in for a supercab. I had checked out the S10 and the Ranger is way better in just about every aspect. The Ranger is so solid in looks and feel, whereas the S10 cabin rattled like crazy.
