The 10 speed transmission is horrible.

The 10 speed transmission is horrible. It jerks, sputters and has no pickup what so ever. Bought it used with 58,000 miles. Test drive was great. By the 3rd week of ownership, the problems started. I'm afraid to pull out in traffic because it pauses, sputters and finally takes off. The dealer keeps telling me it's normal. xxxx it is. Don't buy 2019 XLT 2 door Ranger. You will regret it.

Pour heating and air 2019

Has more than enough power .when I need it it's got it .don't like the fact that a 2019 should have this problem with the heater and air or the fuel gage .but the brown pills do happen .plus do you need a Vin number for the heater. If iam having a problem with electricity on.this what's going to happen with an E.V

Wouldn't buy another one.

I enjoy the interior of the newer Ford Rangers, I have a 2019 Ranger Super cab (4door), it rides smooth and feels good on a long drive, this is where my likes end, transmission feels like it has too many gears for that small of an engine. Lord forbid you actually want to work on it yourself, engine bay is so cramped you almost have to remove the engine to work on it, it would be better if it had the inline 6, similar to their 2005 Rangers. I hate how it has a EGR valve/cooler, definitely a major down side to this truck, mine is having problems and is leaking antifreeze into my spark plugs and I don't have the facilities to actually fix it myself. I recommend getting something other than this truck, I regret buying it and will be getting rid of it as soon as I am able.

In love with 2019 Ranger Lariat Fx4

This truck Is the best purchase I have ever made. My first truck was a '79 F350, then I sold that to get a Crosstrek but I quickly realized I needed a bigger vehicle so I started looking at mid sized trucks and the 4Runner. The 2019 lariat Fx4 with 50k miles on it cost me the same amount as a base model 2015 tacoma with over 100k miles so to me the decision was easy to make. I needed to take this truck to move me and all my stuff entirely across the country from San Diego, up to the Canadian boarder in Glacier National Park, and then to chapel hill North Carolina. Not once did this truck give me any issues and I took it on multiple challenging off-road trails in moab and even completed one jeep trail. (although the jeep trail left me with my first ding on the back bumper) It absolutely blew me away to say the least. Never had issues passing like some tacomas often do, and the adaptive cruise control and lane assist worked excellent. I have a bulged disk in my lower back so its very hard for me to find a comfortable seat for long drives but even after days of 14 hours behind the wheel, I had absolutely no back pain so I felt more than ready to attack the hikes on the trip unlike my subaru. I cannot say enough good things about this truck. Its tough, extremely comfortable, powerful for a 4cyl, great on gas compared to all other midsize trucks, and gave me absolutely ZERO issues while being pushed to its limits both off road and on long journeys. If you're in the market for a midsize truck, you're doing yourself a disservice to not take a good hard look at this truck.

Terrible transmission.

Worst truck I have ever owned, 10 speed transmission is terrible. The transmission had to be rebuilt with 12,000 on it, Truck clunks, shutter, misses gears.

2019 Ranger

My wife picked out this this truck instead of a SUV. I drive it every chance I get, and I love it. It gets good gas milage, drives nice, rides nice and is very comfy for a 6'2" 260 lbs. man. I knew my wife was smart and she picked the best pickup we have owned.

'19 Ranger Lariat FX4

Bought my '19 Ranger Lariat FX4 brand- new july '19 w/ <4mis on odometer. Gloss black exterior /black leather interior. Exactly what i was looking for! Got lucky cause these were hard to get by me bk then. Would've easily went w/ XLT FX4 if had one in black. So long as ya opt for XLT trim *minimum* you get lots safety & tech features. Traded '16 Tacoma TRD 4wd w/58k mis for new Ranger. Always loved Rangers but never owned one. Tons of old Gen Rangers still on rds & after 3.5yrs ownership no doubt this Gen will last test of time. Very well built. Feels like slightly smaller F150 (owned 2 those in past..always great trucks). Ive had zero issues w/truck. Powetrain is phenomenal & far ahead of every other midsized truck. V6 in my Tacoma was ok at best..put this Ranger in sport mode & 2.3L TGDI motor feels very quick! Even in normal driving mode its a torquey, powerful motor w/10spd 10R80 tranny its always in right gear & smooth. These trucks need 1000mis to learn your habits & break-in ..very tight motor/ powertrain which is good thing. Read some articles nit pick the interior. Compares well w/all midsized trucks. Seats are better then my Tacoma by far. Midsized trucks don't get the luxurious detail currently any 1/2 ton trucks get but they will soon. This class of trucks has become popular. Ranger tows 7500lbs ..my ole Tacoma was bout 1500lbs less but still plenty in this class. 10R80 tranny directly from F150 makes the big difference i think. Its more then Ranger needs! That's good. It's not easily stressed. T6 frame very solid..same one used in new bigger Bronco. Would recommend & def purchase another Ranger in future. Possibly new Gen '24 Tremor model.

A multifunctional marvel

It's a great truck, perfect size and height. It's very, very comfortable for a pickup truck. You'd almost guess it's an SUV based on the roominess. However, the infotainment area is stuffed with dim buttons and knobs, making it finicky to use, especially at night. All of them are placed pretty low, too. The Ranger is one powerful beast. However, it does struggle to accelerate while carrying heavy amounts of cargo. It's a great buy compared to some more expensive competitors, including the Denali, Tacoma, and Ridgeline. I feel that you get more add-ons for what you pay for than you would a different truck. As for styling, it's a good-looking truck. Not really a head-turner, but the front looks mean and the back looks like it's eager to work. However, I strongly dislike the decals (I got the Sport ones and this three year-old truck has them already peeling at the edges). I have had no main engine or transmissional issues and haven't even had to touch the brake pads since buying, but the electronic screen conveniently went out right after my 36,000 mile warranty expired. But even despite the cons, most being minor, I love this truck and would 100% buy again. The ride is fantastic like a car when on the road and takes it like a champ on the off-road. It all comes down to personal preference, but I would most certainly recommend.
