Nice overall
The Terrain (4 cylinder) is a nice package, right sized, seems to be well-built. I bought the 4 cylinder/ front wheel (vs. All Wheel) drive for economy, replacing a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which got 18 MPG all-around. The Terrain sacrifices the 4WD and the better performance of a V-6, and gets (only) another 4 MPG. Some of the less than anticipated fuel efficiency is no doubt because of the "reformulated" gasoline we have in winter, but I had expected about 30 MPG highway, and 28 all-around. It IS a really nice sized vehicle- does all the Jeep did, and it is more fuel efficient.

Like my Terrain
Hi, I am adding my review as a result of reading the first review of bad mileage. We bought the 6 cyl when it first came out fall of 2009. It had been flawless. It's an SLT1 with extra's (we had no choice) and the ONLY thing I don't like is the SLT2 has SEAT MEMORY for 2 drivers. Ours has none. I have driven the Terrain to Arizona from Chicago, 3 times this year. In the worst weather with big winds, hills, mountain pass's etc... (and a roof bag on 1 trip) I still get 25MPG with the 6 Cyl and I drive it. I am using 5-30 Synthetic with 44 K additives (plan on keeping the car for 100,000) and have no complaints whatsoever. City we have been getting 19 at the worst and more like 22. That said, it's a heck of a lot bigger than a Mini, not as much fun, BUT DOES THE JOB AND GETS GREAT MILEAGE. I have no thoughts or info on the 4 Cyl but I would think the mileage can only be better. I was interested in more performance and the dealer had this car in stock (I think it was their second car delivered) That said, I would recommend this car. Great car, nice ride, SUPER QUIET. As of today, we have 18,000 mile on it. No Problems. Lots of compliments too.

Gas mileage really is bad.
With 32 MPG highway advertised, we are only getting about 26 MPG with the 4 cyl. model. Don't buy it

Can't believe its an SUV
This is a very unique vehicle that looks like a truck, but drives like a car. Very comfortable on a 600 mile round trip. Plenty of power for interstate passing, but still gets respectable gas mileage.

Love my NEW TERRAIN!!
This is a great vehicle. I have my 2011 terrain for just a little over a week and I am in love with it already. Couldn't ask for a better vehicle and a better dealer to have bought it from.

I just love my new Terrain
I have had my 2011 Terrain for 2 weeks and I just love it. The roomy interior allows me to take my friends with me. I have had many comments on the body style and I like Onstar. My compliments to GMC for a great job on this car. I will enjoy many years of driving this vehicle.Springfil
