This is why you buy a Honda
99,000 miles and performs as well as ever. Normal maitenance is all I have had to do. It may not be the sexiest car out there, but it is a great automobile and everyone knows it. You don't have to explain or apologize to anyone for why you drive the most dependable care made. And don't forget the resale value. Not that you care since you won't want to get rid of it...ever. With the V6, leather, CD and moonroof you have more for less. If I had lots of money to buy a luxury car I guess I would, but I won't trade my Accord for a Camry or an Altima, much less a pick up.

Simply the Best
Reliable, Affordable, Fun-to-Drive. It pleases all the senses even after 5 years and 70K miles! Absolutely nothing has ever gone wrong on this car (2002 Accord EX-V6 Sedan). Unbelievable why anyone would by Ford, GM or Chrysler when a car like the Accord exists in the marketplace.

totally reliable... to break at 100K miles
I bought a certified 2002 4-cylinder Honda Accord with 90k miles on it from a Honda dealer, and almost immediatly noticed that it took a little while to get into gear once I shifted into reverse. After putting less than 20k miles on it, the transmission in the car is completely worthless. It will pop out of gear at any time, and will jerk you out of your shoes as it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. I have been told that it will cost upward of $2300 to put a new transmission in it. I have researched the problem, and have found that almost everyone with this car has had transmission troubles. It is a design flaw, and yet Honda dealers are completely unwilling to fix it. I am now stuck owing $10k on a car that is sitting in my driveway until I can come up with the money to get it fixed. I will NEVER buy another Honda. I have had countless Fords and other domestic cars, and have never had any catastrophic problems like this at only 100K miles. Hondas are trash. DO NOT BUY ONE!

Recommended New or Used
Bought it at 4 years old, 43,000 miles. Car gets about 30 miles/galon hwy (avg speed of 75mph), 22mpg city (26mpg mixed), using regular (87 octaine) fuel. Rides smoothly, and generally quiet, although there's more engine noise with this car than with the Sonata or the Camry. While I like the styling and feel of American cars, the reliability of the Honda just can't be beat. Lots of leg and head room (I'm 6'1), reminding me of many American-made cars like the Pontiac Grand Prix, but the seats are a bit more uncomfortable than a similar-year Camry. Attractive, sporty look, especially when compared to other asian cars (Hyundai, Toyota). Spectacular for high-mileage drivers. (I drive over 30,000 mi/yr.) Overall, superb value for the dollar. Before buying this car, I considered the following: Pontiac Grand Prix, Volkswagen Passat, Ford Five Hundred, Chevy Malibu, Lexus ES300, Volvo S60, Toyota Camry (2002, 2003), Hyundai Sonata (2005, 2006). Although I feared having made a wrong decission, my fears were definitely unfounded. Highly recommended vehicle, but make sure to do your research with comparative pricing and repair records.

Most Reliable Car I've Owned
The car has been a dream and a pleasure. Great gas milage or the best besides a hybrid, light on its feet, peppy performance, great looks, all interior controlls are right where they should be, never go to a macanic again, great overall value and I just love the car as a whole. Get one and be just as happy as I am.
