Like all Japanese cars, very reliable, well design

Love the car, first Honda ever bought, had toyotas before but like accord better than camry in 2006. Bought new. No problems, systems work like supposed to, still smells like new car 2 years later. 45k miles and still original tires with miles to go. Only change oil when told to. Getting 31 mpg. Buy it.

Great Car

I bought my four cylinder accord when I only went to the dealerships to look at cars. I have not been back to a dealership lol. The car was a compromise between something a little sporty and something economical. By the way gas has gone up, I think I made the right choice. The performance is ok, it is not a sports car by any sense of the word. It handles great and the five speed transmission gives it a really sporty feel. The comfort level is great and I enjoy driving the vehicle. The only things that I would change on the car to add an ipod jack and give it all wheel drive. I can get a jack and put that in myself, but the all wheel drive will have to be taken care of when I upgrade to that Porsche 911 4s. My quarter jar is just waiting, I might still be in my 90s when I finally save up enough.

Just OK

Just OK, A Buick is a much more comfortable automobile. Basically the Honda's ride is stiff along with the seats. The 4cyl. is wonderful in it's fuel economy with good pick up.

luxury economy

PROS: At $3 per gallon, 34 mph is darn good. That averages out to 350 to 400 miles per tank on normal city/highway driving. This gets even better when you consider the fact that this car is a full sized four door that seats four adults very comfortably (or three kids in the back) and has enough trunk space to carry two full sets of golf clubs, and then some. The A/C is cold (dual climate), the seats are warmed (front seats anyway), the special paint jobs (mine's Redondo Red Pearl - gorgeous!) and interior trims (mine's brushed aluminum) really add a lot and my number one "Pro" for this car, my favorite little add on... auto-up driver's window. It?s the little things that turn me on! CONS: can?t find any? oh, its not AWD Love it, love it, love it! This is my first 4-door "family" car and my first Honda. I just sold a Saturn I had for 10 years, that was a great car too, never went into the shop. This Accord is a beautiful dark red color, dark gray interior with a very complimenting brushed aluminum trim. Everyone that?s gotten inside my car has said it looks like an expensive luxury car. I passed on the Volvo S-40 for this one.

One of the best Hondas I have ever leased or owned. Very good millage. Rides good. Very good get up and go. Other auto companies should take a look at what Honda is doing.

Honda strikes again

Purchased a 'new' '06 EX Accord leftover in November. First time we repeated manufacturers. After 5 trouble free years with the '01 CRV, we decided to go more 'adult' after being unimpressed with the new CRV styling. The Accord is a dream to drive with little or no fatigue after lengthy highway sessions- have to force myself to pull into a rest area. Handling is excellent without being too harsh- a plus here in NYC with our various road obstacles. Plenty of ooomph when needed and still exceeds the mileage estimates on the sticker. Interior appointment give a more upscale look and fit and finish are top notch- as usual for Honda. One or two demerits, though. The 'throttle-by-wire' system could have a bit more 'feel' to it. I find myself creeping up over 80mph on the highway without realizing it. Yes, cruise control can fix that, but here in NYC you can't always use that feature in our traffic. A split rear fold down seat would be more practical than the whole width folding seat currently installed. Oh, and what happened to the keyhole for the trunk? This has me going nuts. IF the battery in the fob goes out, you still have to open the door, release the trunk, and then put your stuff in. A bit awkward if your hands are semi-full. Minor stuff, sure, but one of those annoying things car makers do to save what, $2? Overall- I think we made an excellent choice and will probably "Go for 3" the next time around.

A bit too cold, could be just right

My 2006 Honda Accord 2006 Special Edition is a great car. Lots of power from a 4-cl, comfortable interior, easy use of controls. But like another reviewer, the vibrations in this car are unbelievable! I haven't been to the dealer yet, but considering Honda's reputation I shouldn't have ever had to go. I am seriously doubting my allegiance to Honda cars because of this rattle-box. Ceiling, dashboard, but especially the doors. There have been problems in multiple years and by multiple owners. If this issue can be fixed, then you have a great, fair-priced car with an underpowered stereo. Hopefully, I will renew my affinity to Honda after dealing with their service departments. haha, we'll see.

"Dissappointed owner"

I have to say I had high expectations for my brand new 2006 Honda Accord Special edition.. I thought this car would be the best car for me.. but I was wrong.. mine could have been a lemon... my cars interior quality was not to the standard I've heard about honda cars in the past.. I had rattling noises coming from almost every area of the car. One minute on the left, then the right, then in front of me. I took it to the dealership and they fixed the rattling near my drivers side seatbelt then another annoying rattle started coming from the steering wheel.. After six months with the car I decided it was time for an upgrade into a quality car without rattles.. I traded it in for a brand new Audi A3. yes it costs 10 grand more but well worth it... See my Audi review for details you don't want to miss it...

so far so good

I purchased the 2006 LX 4dr new in Feb 2006, very pleased. I traded in a 2001 Altima (and also own a 2003 Altima) this Accord is a major step up for the same (or close to same) price tag. The 4 cyl engine has enough pep and pickup for my liking and the handling of the car is top notch for 20K. Also, this car seems to use very little gas at a time where the price of fuel is not going down. I'd recommed the Accord to anyone looking for a safe, reliable, and fun car to drive. I hope I get years and years out of this one!
