a great vehicle...

I owned a 2009 Accord EX-L Accord Coupe model. While I no longer own it (needed a four door sedan) I have nothing but high praise for that vehicle. The feature content was great and the handling exceptional. I logged about 12,000 miles on the car through both the summer and a very bad winter. The car was solid and powerful (4 cyl. 190HP) and was great even in the most adverse driving conditions. The safety features, VSA and Anit-lock brakes were a great peace of mind. One of my favorite features of the car was the audio sound system with its 270 watts of power and seven speakers. Its no Bose system but you're not left feeling cheated either. The leather seats were comfortable and supportive especially with the lumbar support. For an MSRP of just over 27,000 I would expect fog lights, a cargo net and an auto dim mirror to be included. Those are only available as accessories though. Maintainence was easy to calculate with the standard maintainence Minder system. It basically tells you your oil life remaining and as long as you're registered with the Honda owner link, you'll be reminded of service specials and encouraged to maintain your vehicle.

Honda looses its quality and reliability.

My family has five different Honda car models. 2000 Accord LXV6, 2003 Accord 2dr, V6EX, 2004 Civic LX, 2008 Civic LX, and 2009 Accord EX V6. This is my last Honda car. 2000 accord run much better than new. The engine of old accord works without any noise (almost 100K), new car engine has o lot of knocking noises making me crazy while driving. 5spd transmission did not make the car run better that 2000 and 2003 accord. Gear ratio is not smart made especially for 5th spd because for 271 hp the ratio should be lower to use the engine power wisely and for better fuel consuming. On 2000 accord I change an alternator at 97,000mi (was made in USA!!!). New Accord was made 100% in USA. Better to by Ford.

problems

Stero adequate at best, ECO obtrusive you can feel it change cylinders it is quite annoying. My sister in law has a Odessy and it shifts much better. I need to buy a new tire which no one has because it is "an odd size" now my new Accord has a donut on it looks real cool. Do youself a favor by a Benz!

A Somewhat Average Vehicle

When I rented this car, my expectations were high. My expectations were not fulfilled. You sit low in the car, and the dashboard is difficult to see over. But to fix the problem, a pump-like lever is set in the drivers door which can raise and lower the seat. The back doors cannot be unlocked from the outside. It is probably a problem with this model, not all Accords. When I leaned forward to angle my seat farther up, the seat went farther than 90 degrees and whacked my head pretty hard. Performance is good, the car is comfortable, you just have to be careful if you own this vehicle. Overall it was pretty good.

Buyer beware

This is my 5th Honda and it will probably be my last. The 2009 Accord has a major problem with premature wear on the rear brakes. I had to replace mine at 19K miles. The dealer service rep had the nerve to say that it was normal wear. Honda is not backing up this problem at all.

Update a few months later...

Okay, So i gave a review to this vehicle on August 22,2009. Not much has changed from what I said before. I still like the car. At 5700 miles on it now, my oil life says I have 50 percent left. Called the dealership and they said I should probably still get it changed relatively soon. At this pace, I would come close to 12,000 miles before an oil change occured. That doesnt make much sense or sound healthy for the engine. Ive come to appreicate my 2.4 Liter engine more than before. Its got a lot of power for a 4 cylinder and actually runs a little smoother now that its broken in some. The engine is louder than a V6. Overall though, the engine wants to please but you still may wish you had a V6 under the hood if you're doing a lot of passing. There isnt much oomph in higher speeds. The inside is attractive, however, my biggest gripe would be the busy center console. Buttons galore. Or maybe itsthe way they're arranged. Either way though, it looks good. Ive had the opportunity to avoid a deer or two with the fall season upon us and have found the handling and manueverability of this car to be exceptional. Only thing I need to have the dealer adjust is the sping in the trunk lid. There's a squeak as the trunk goes up and is shut. No other issues to talk about with this car. Im happy with my purchase and would buy this car again!
