Why have 271 horsies?
I traded in a 1995 Maxima (yes I keep my cars forever), for this 09 Accord EX V6. Comfort, styling and most features GREAT! Performance......lousy. Don't get me wrong. Passing at highway speeds and highway manuverability is great. Feels like a sport sedan costing much more. Its the city stop and go driving (I live in New York City) that is a killer. From a dead stop its a piece of junk. It heastitates a beat before it lurches forward. The dealer tells me this is normal because of the variable cylinder management system. My fault, I should have did more than a twice around the block test drive, but the dealer was too far away from a highway. Whats the point of having 271 HP if you 0 to 60 is sluggish? In hindsight the 190 HP 4 cylinder I tested first was more pleasing. Still love a Honda though for quality, but as soon as this one is paid off, its the 4 cylinder 2011 Accord for me. Don't waste money on a 6.

Best yet...
This being the sixth Honda Ive owned and the fourth Accord Ive owned, I find this to be the best packaged vehicle yet. My previous Accord was an 06 Accord v6 EX-L coupe. This one was a 2009 Accord EX-L 4 Cyl. I guess for the MSRP sticker price of 27,215 the 2009 model should include a day/night auto mirror (standard on the 4 door EX-L sedan) fog lights and blue tooth. Aside from those features, you're not left wanting more except for Navigation. VSA, heated mirrors steering wheel audio control buttons, power sunroof and a 270 7 speaker audio system are basics. Once to a cruising speed the cabin stays fairly quiet. The power of 190HP on this Accord is adequate. You wont want to take on a Honda Si of course as you'll most certainly lose however if you're after a stylish car, plenty of features and not minding a stare or two, this coupe's for you. This accord has a on center feel when driving and handles the road with manners. Better than some adults! Favorite features on the outside are the headlights, roofline and wide agressive look. Inside... The leather seats feel supportive, better than previous years and steering is great. The instrumentation panel is upscale in look but a bit confusing until you learn your way around on it. I noticed there isnt any "repeat button" for a CD but maybe that was an oversite on my part considering all the buttons on the busy dash. A nice addition to the Leather package was the built in compass. A wider center armrest is nice, however the power plug in it is in the rear of the console. Odd! Overall my imprssion of this car is excellent. No car is prefect but this car is close. If you can get by without a v6, the 190HP 4 cyl. boogies on out and is more than adequate. If however you dont mind compromising a gallon or two on your mpg's and dont mind spending the extra 2000.00 then by all means go for some more ponies under the hood.

European Design For Alot Less Money
I never imagined owning a Honda after owning an Infiniti G35 for last 5 years. However, the Accord offers excellent performance, handling, comfort and solid reliability. I purchased the EX-L model with the 4 cylinder engine. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to low maintenance costs as compared to the Infiniti G35.

I made correct decision
I bought 2009 Honda Accord EX-L 4 cyl. sedan. I love this car. The ride is very comfortable and at the same time it is still delivering sporty handling. For me 4 Cylinder engine is more than enough, it accelerates well and delivers great gas milage. Great Job Honda! Thank You!

I own a 2009 2 door coupe. The steering wheel is too far away causing the driver to move the seat forward to accommodate. This reduces the comfort of the legs of any size driver. The leather seats are too firm with the sides of the bottom folding up. It puts the posterior asleep during a long drive. It is impossible to clean the inside of the rear window. Further, with the severe slope of the back window and low height of the trunk lid the driver can only guess where the rear bumper is. Fuel economy and handling is well above the norm. Service access is about average. Trim, fit and finish are excellent.

Beautiful Coupe
I purchased the 09 Accord after deciding to trade in my 05 S40 Volvo, because my Volvo was four years old & I still owed a few more years on it. I bought my Volvo used & at the time when I purchased the Volvo I was recovering from bankruptcy & had a high interest rate (15.8%) I really enjoy my black 2009 Accord EX-L coupe with all the bells & whistles, moon roof, black leather (very soft and smooth), navigation system, blue tooth. interest rate (3.9%) The coupe has much more room than I could have ever image. The ride is great much better than the S40 (smaller car.) I love the fact that you can hold a button & instruct the Accord as to what you would like for it to do.ie...turn radio off or on, turn ac off or on and so & so. I think this is truly a beautiful coupe.

I liked my unreliable VW Passat better
Reliability: Too early to tell Value for Money: Too early to tell Features: I got the basic entry level 4 cylender without a lot of bells and whistles...which is the same trim level I always get, but it seems like this car is a little extreme on the lack of bells or whistles Interior Design: I hate the velvety cloth seats. They are prone to getting dirty. Overall the interior looks and feels cheap to me. I am used to VW's though that look much more high end even at the low end levels. Handling: Not good. The ride is bumpy and loud. Performance: Very slow compared to the 4cyl Passat. Additionally there is an issue with the idle that I notice in low speed situations...like in parking garages. When you turn the wheel the idle jumps causing the car to lunge just enough to make you have to hit the brake. The service people at the dealer say it is "normal"...but I have driven a lot of cars and have never noticed anything like this before. I am going to call Honda soon and ask to go somewhere other than the dealer to have it looked at. Comfort: average

Great car!
Great performance with the 271 h.p. Love the shifting in the 5 speed automatic. Low emissions mean alot to us. Using it for pleasure with both hwy and city driving equally. Leather is real nice and plenty of room for friends in the back seat for a night out on the town.

Miss my Camry...
My company lease was up on my Camry, my favorite car yet. I got this Accord to try something new. I should have gotten another Camry. The Accord falls short in most categories compared to the Camry, other than handling, this one is a lot more agile. The seats aren't as comfortable as they should be, but they will do. The 2.4 engine is fine on gas but a lot slower than I expected, not to mention the constant sluggishness. I average 24.0 mpg, about the same as the Camry. The dashboard is way too busy and not as user-friendly as seen in previous generations(had an 05). That being said, this isn't a terrible car, it's just that there are other options that are a better value. The car is a lot larger than past years and a lot roomier, which can't be a bad thing. Also, the reliability makes this car worth a look at due to Honda's reputation. Overall, my white LX is fine but I miss my black Camry...a lot!

Best Car
Overall great car. I look forward to driving it. Nav and other controls are a little too confusing. Setting up blue tooth was a little clumsy. Very strong v6 and handling is great. Overall mileage is approx 23 after 6k miles. Highway is around 30. I drove all the competition and Malibu and Altima were the only ones close.
