best car ever.

Good on gas, very reliable. Engine block cracked at 189k and honda replaced it for FREE!!!, so now I'm at 189k with a new engine, now this car really gonna last me forever!! Not sure what some of the people in here complaining about road noise or handling. For the price what are you expecting? handle like a Porsche and quiet cabin like a Mercedes??? The car serves it purpose, cheap, reliable and good on gas.

Overall love this car!

I would buy this car again and again. It has the pickup I want- quick off the stop without compromise. It has the comfort that keeps you comfortable, focused on your mission. The style transcends time because it is rooted in fundamental appeal. Hands down would recommend this car to anyone.

still loving this civic

bought mine new. racked up 327,000 km so far. other than routine stuff, only other problem is alternator died and took the battery. a bit of rust here and there but i did not rustproof every year, and we have a LOT of salt on the roads in Ontario. thinking i can get 500,000 out of it and even my mechanic thinks i'm crazy.

Just.. No

Worst car I've ever owned. Loud, uncomfortable ride and seats and very slow. Cheap interior. If you're looking at this car to buy, you need to keep looking. Would also get dizzy driving it because of the shape of the windshield.

2006 Honda Civic Coupe

This is an excellent car. I have had it since 2006 and never has it had problems starting or left me stranded. I am NOT a gentle driver and it has stood up for Service calls in the winter, nighttime, weekends and was a reliable car for me in all situations. I highly recommend the Honda Civic for anyone who wants reliable transportation. The only reason I gave it only 4.5 stars for performance is because, like all small cars, needs a little more power.

Never Failed On Me!

Due to a family situation I needed a reliable car for my commute to work and school within a week. Being 20 years old at the time I did not have much credit or money to put down, this was about all I could afford at the time with almost 100k miles on it. I kept it for 2 years before trading it in for something much better, but I didn't have to. It started every morning. It needed a a muffler replacement which cost $300 but nothing other then normal maintenance on it. MPG was very good too (35 combined). I recommend this car to first time car buyers, young adults and teens. The safety features are right up with new models, it's very roomy and comfortable to ride in. And I loved the digital MPH

Good reliable fuel efficient car

I bought the 200 Honda Civic new . I have had it close to 9 years and still have it. Wonderful Car. Never has a problem. Spent no more money other than regular oil changes and usual maintaince. Never left me stranded . Always reliable. After 9 years of use, still quiet and fuel efficient. The design still looks good and the interior futuristic. I should say I like the digital speedometer the best. But like any other car has it cons. Too low ( close to the ground) . Road noise.

Not the greatest

I'm not a big fan of this car, after one problem is fixed another occurs. My motor shakes when I'm stopped and it only has 89k miles, my paint is peeling/fading in multiple areas on my hood, car tries to shut off, would not recommend.

Might Run Forever- If I Keep Replacing the Battery

This was my wife's college car. She now has a new car and I bear the burden of driving the civic. . 2006 was the first year for this generation, and it has had numerous problems. . The A/C compressor conveniently turns off during acceleration to give the engine better power. Once you're over 30mph, it starts to cool. That's nice in the 100 degree summer when it probably takes most people at least 5 minutes to get from parked to a sustained speed over 30mph in order to cool the car. . The battery is smaller than what I use in my jet-ski. It needs to be replaced once a year, even if you top off the water. Luckily, most batteries come with a 2-year warranty. . The sun visors melt and fall apart. Instead of replacing them with a new design, you get new ones that will fall apart next summer... rinse and repeat (until they decide you've had enough free replacements) . The rear control arms are not the correct angle and eat the tires within 20K miles. After about 10K, stores will refuse to rotate them. . The paint peels off the car. It started with dark colors, but I think it covers all of them, now. . The front of the car is so low, when you accidentally pull over a parking block, it tears up the plastic under-side cover. Mine has gotten to the point where the ENTIRE bumper comes off the car when I back off the parking block. . Most of these issues affected so many cars that the manufacturer has repaired them. Granted, some were forced by class action suits. . Some of our repairs were done through HondaCare. Wifey's parents bought the 120K mile extended warranty w/ $0 deductible. HondaCare is a nightmare to deal with. Dealers are also reluctant when they find out you're planning on paying $0 because you bought the awesome warranty. They'll nickel and dime you, and I've been to several in a few states. The warranty paid for itself, but I wouldn't recommend it. . Other than the fact that the car is HOT, unattractive, uncomfortable, too slow to merge into interstate traffic, and all-around miserable to drive and be seen in, it will probably run forever. . Mine has 163K miles with oil changes, new batteries, trans fluid @ 110K mi, brakes, rear bearings, and a few misc repairs. The trans seems a little loose and I think the fuel pump is about to go. With more TLC than I'm willing to give, it would easily go another 100K miles. Hopefully, I'll get rid of it before then. . If you're still interested in this model, I'd suggest a 2008 or later. That's probably enough time for Honda to have fixed the major issues.
