Worst Vehicle Ever

The honda civic states 40MPG. I drive almost exclusively highway and get only 28MBG, on cruise control with no brakes. In addition, the honda civic adds advertise "roomy" space. I am only 5' 10", and my knees are jacked up like a tripod. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If they advertised it at 30mbg, and cramped, then ok. But they flim flam you with false advertisements. So I drive to work with no seat support, and buy boat loads of gas for this gas guzzler.

An upgrade(downgrade?) for a ex-97 Accord owner

This is my second Honda, and the better of the 2. The civic's comfort is top class for me(I am 5'10" and 160lbs.) The seats are highly adjustable, therefore there are more than 1 "sweet spots". Everything is located at the right place - very typical Honda. The moonroof is average size and it is a good thing that it tilts. On the Performance's side, I have to say it lacks the passing power on highway when comparing to my old Accord's 2.2L, however when considering this Civic has only a 1.8L, it is quite powerful and only sips little gas(I am getting about 34mpg in 100% city driving); hats off to the i-VTEC. Handling is quite nimble around town, the steering is quick and light and can be controlled by only 1 hand(Bad habit). I fell in love with the 2-spoke steering the minute I drove it. Exterior styling is sharp and stands out in the compact crowd. However, the JDM version has better styled headlight and tailights. The interior design is ahead of time with the 2-tier instrument panel which helped me focus on the road instead of worrying my speed. However, there are 2 blemish points, the doors' plastic trims look cheap(Stepped down from the Accord) and the vanity mirrors don't illuminate. And there is a mini scale pocket in the dash where I can put nothing but a few pens.(Where I could put a couple of CD in the Accord) Value for the money is superior, for similar price to an Accord 10 years ago, with similar size, similar performance, but much better gas mileage and a 5AT in the compact cars' field, you just can't go wrong with the Civic. As for the reliability, I have yet encounter any problem so far, and gotta love the oil life indicator. (With about 800 miles on the odometer, there is still 90% oil life left)

Much Better Than My 2003 Civic

There are definitely more pluses on the 2007 Civic as compared to the 2003 Civic (for which my lease just ended), but there are a couple things that are different that shouldn't have been changed. Those two things are, first, the accelerator. If you lift your foot off the gas pedal quickly (such as to get ready to stop for a red light), it clicks. I brought the car back to the dealer, thinking it was a problem, but they said it was designed that way -- it's because the pedal is from bottom-up rather than the usual design for floor pedals. Strange. I didn't notice it when I test-drove, but that's just as well, because I'm already used to it. The radio drowns it out anyway. And second, the driver's seat isn't as comfortable as before. I hit my knee several times the first day I drove it -- I'm 5"6" and have somewhat long legs, and there really isn't enough leg room -- if I put the seat back, my arms have to reach too far for the steering wheel! So I'm all bunched up, but again, I'm used to it now. What's markedly better is the style (style, style, style!), handling (especially in the rain), interior design, paint color (Atomic Blue is a silly name but looks fabulous), remote-key lock/unlock, and general feeling that you're driving an expensive car. Hopefully Honda will fix those aforementioned flaws, because I do love my Civic!

Best First car to Have

I moved from New York to Florida with hate that I had to start driving instead of using the train. And for me An 11th grader in High School wasn't fond of having to wait for an opportunity for my parents to drive me anywhere. The solution to this problem was my first car. My dad really likes cars and when he first heard about the honda civic si sedan he was first in line to get one. We got the call from the honda dealership and we loved it. My dad bought it for me even though I didn't have a license!! and now that i do I drive it every day!! I love the ride. The engine makes beautiful music and everybody around me loves it. I even dusted a kid with an FX-35. In all I think everyone should get a Honda Civic Si sedan but theres a problem with that because Honda dealerships are always sold out!!!!

"Awesome - You have to believe this car"

I can't believe how great this car handles and performs. It wants to take off underneath you like a pair of super slalom skis on blue ice. It has a very responsive and tight feel, although not built for super tight curves. But I have more fun driving this car than my 06 Lexus SC430 Pebble Beach Edition or my 07 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG.

Honda 4-Door Civic LX Sedan w/MT

Bought the Civic LX 4-door Sedan at "Out-the-Door" Internet price (auto, freight, processing fee, tax, and tags) for $17.4k in Central Virginia. Honda's high-rev engine means at 70 mph, RPM is 3000, gas mileage is about 36 mpg in 70% HWY and 30% CITY, and am pressing slightly on the gas pedal at cruise speed. On 5th gear and about 2000 rpm, the car is cruising at 49 mph. Just imagine if Honda set the 5th gear cruising at 2300 rpm, the car could get well over 40 mpg, although no torque. CD players handles MP3/WMA well and has a AUX under the 12 volt outlet for your IPOD. This CIVIC is my commuter car and ready for $4.00 per gallon for Memorial day weekend. Love this car.

Like most of it

Only major problem is don't open the rear window going over 35mph. The noise and pressure inside the cab is so bad. When I did this I thought I had a flat tire or a strut had failed. The interior pressure was so bad I thought I would go nuts. Other than that it is a great little car.

Very Fun!!

Wanted a fun car to drive for a change. This is it! The power and the 6 speed transmission make this a "driver's car". The ride is a little rough, but taking curves at full speed and finding that you can do it, you understand why. Is this really a Honda Civic with good gas mileage and 4 doors? Love it.

Can't get enough of my Si

I traded my 2000 Civic DX for this sweet ride. Talk about an upgrade! The dealer called the Civic Si the "best kept secret on the road today". He's right. I was totally unprepared for the experience on my first drive. The quick shift ratio is fun. The handling is solid and tight. The DOHC delivers 197 horses and a gorgeous harmonic note. The interior detailing and comfort make me forget--this is a sedan! I constantly make excuses to take it out. I have washed it twice a week just to have a good look at it. I can't believe the care that went into the engineering. It is an excellent value. And this ain't your dad's old Honda! The suspension is extremely stiff and makes for a rough ride on choppy pavement. At first I was concerned about this, but my wife and I have adjusted to it. In fact, it adds to the character of the vehicle. It begs to be driven--really driven. The sound system ("Premium") is completely lackluster. What could one expect from cardboard speakers? As soon as kits are available, I'll be dropping in a new system. In short, the 2007 Civic Si has changed my feeling about driving. I used to hate driving some stretches of road. Now I beg for more time behind the wheel.

6sp manual problem

I have a red 4dr si. It is a great car for the price i pay. When you approach redline the motor makes an unbelievable purrrr. The exauhst note is nice for a 4cylinder. There is one major problem with the car and that is 3rd gear. It doesnt always fully engage. You have pust it in hard and hold it there. To me this is a major flaw. I brang it to the dealrship but of course it is a hassle and make believe there is nothing wrong. Make sure you test drive .
